Whats worth stripping...
« on: 06 April 2017, 18:39:37 »

3.0l auto MV6 LT MFL, before it goes to AndyB's workplace for containers?

I want the HID bulbs and headlight adjusters for TBE, gixer might want front end LPG kit, and I guess the CID and telematics have some value.  I might swap over tyres if worthwhile, need to measure them.

Lights, bumpers, mirrors, interior, springs and shocks (if any good), calipers, exhaust if recent, plumbing, engine ancilliaries plus aircon gubbins, ecu/keys/chipset, looms, and diff mounts :y

There's nothing on the list that will prevent wheels being fitted should the disposal company insist :y

Believe it or not around the breakers it is generally hard / impossible to get a very simple part; the four black plastic plugs that go over the plenum bolt holes.

After searching around on the internet I found four at a breakers near me who is winding down. He had some on the last 2.6 v6 he was selling from his last Omega to be dismantled.

Got 4 for £1. I was real chuffed!   ;D ;D :y

I need a wiper arm cap.  ;D..............could be other bits actually. Will have to have a think.
Until recently could have done with the CID telematics, front suspension legs if good ones and well lots of bits really, but bought most of them now.  ::)

it would be easier to keep the car and just remove the parts if they're ever required. Probably be tidier and take up less space.

Unless you have a high tolerance for festering crap, the only bits worth removing are the ones that you have a use for now, or that somebody will give you money for. In advance.

Diff mounts if they aren't too bad as you won't find replacements, watch your hands when the diff drops though !

Down pipes, climate panel, condenser, radiator, alternator(if its a 120), compressor, cams,
That redistributed itself around the engine bay a few years back, and is a factor in why I'm not going to just fit a new AR35 and keep here going  :'(

Rad is only a few months old though :).
