Title: The Saga continues
Post by: BazaJT on 08 June 2019, 14:49:50
So the step daughter finally got her Meriva back on Thursday and rightly used it yesterday for her work commute, had a text from her today to say that on her way home the temp gauge got to 70 before dropping back to its lowest point[which she tells me is 50]and staying there it threw a code which she tells me was code 4 which apparently means the aircon was off.Today so far it's behaved normally[although still only registering a high of 70 on the gauge where before it used to run at about 90] and she's going to try a bit of a run in it tomorrow to see how it behaves. In fairness she's been in touch with the seller and he's offered to pick the car up on Monday to check it over/fix it[again :D]and leave her a "courtesy car" while he does so.Whilst she seems reluctant for this to happen I've advised her that if she cannot reject the car totally then she should get him to sort it out properly as if she lets it ride now she's potentially storing up problems in the[probably]near future.

does sound like it

all our vauxhalls get to 90+ (though astra and the zafira b the temp is hidden in the trip computer )

easy to check Mr Baza the stat operation  :)
plus get it warmed up/hot and check the fans kick in ,which is one vital check  :y

It did actually cross my mind that they'd pulled the thermostat.I'll have to see if I can get to her flat tomorrow and check for fan operation etc.
