Think I'll install a log burner, so if it comes to it at least I'll be able to burn the furniture!  ;D

Log burners are in the firing line, too. Many people burn 'green' wood, causing damage to the environment.
Most things are under the microscope right now. Baked bean rationing is being discussed at the highest level.  ;D

Yes you're not allowed to install oil fired boilers in new builds anymore and I think gas boilers are banned in new builds from 2025.  ::)

The younger generations will have to get used to ice on the inside of their windows in winter...  ;D

Never did me any harm!  :)

Indeed, it was very life building waking up as a lad and the water in the glass on the bedside table was frozen. Then you put your feet down onto the lino. :o ;D

Imagine if it was like that now, Ronny, you have to wait for your teeth to thaw out before you could eat your breakfast.  ;D

Once they have tried to go zero plant food from sometimes working windmills & solar panels & paid for all the zero plant food backup systems so the grid works occasionally, I'm sure you will very happy with the very reasonable £8.50kwh price. :D

Germany have shut this stable door after many of their industries have bolted to Poland, Slovakia & Turkey for their cheaper energy costs & are now building a new generation of brown coal fired power stations. Australia are doing the same except with much better quality coal. :y :y :y

We were taught, on our B course, how to dig a hole to erect poles. Not of this fancy 'truck turns up with a giant auger'.
You had to dig 'steps' down about 6', lay the pole at an angle of about 40°, and haul the bastid up with ropes.

Must have been useful training for when you had to do the same on Salisbury Plain erecting a circle of stones. :P
