windows media center guide
« on: 09 March 2016, 01:50:44 »

i know there are some skilled media center users here.  before i start using rstrui.exe, has anyone else found the guide is now only updating 7 days ahead instead of the old 14? i no longer seem to be able to choose between 'use listings from broadcaster' and using the specific listings which might explain it.  except that when i update and download the guide over the internet it now always says 7 days ahead not the 14 it used to.

seems to have resolved itself today apparently it was a uk wide problem.   this fix occurred at the same time as I installed a large a windows 7 update, could be coincidence.  i had to reset all the channels listing sources to get the full 2 weeks.

what it is great for is the search - each programme for the next two weeks on every channel has a couple of paragraphs of description and you can search them all for a single word, eg 'omega'  (not that you ever find one except about watches :'()

Why not just use Sky?  ::)
Because Media Center is about so much more than recording TV...  ...and nowhere near as restrictive.

Plus, tunnie is rich enough ;D
