Can anyone explain how to access the bulbs behind the dash please. The left side for the rev counter isn't working, hoping it isn't too difficult. Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks for the quick response. Can I ask, Is it the same procedure if at some point I need to change the speedo bulb too?
-
Change all of them and you won't need to worry about it :y
Just don't drop the screw down the top of the steering column... That game gers boring very quickly.
-
Thanks again, yes I'll change them all while I'm in there.

Yes, the procedure describes how to remove the instrument panel which gives access to all the instrument/warning light lamps and those for MID/GID/CID

Once again many thanks for the info.

Sorry to interrupt, gents, but a while ago I got some LED replacement bulbs with a view to replacement and got negative comments from a member here regarding their suitability (possibly TB), so could you please advise on the proper bulb type and where to get them?
Ron.

Those backlight ones, and MID ones, replace all at same time.
I sourced mine from dealer for convenience (and delivery by van that afternoon ;D), as bulbs aren't dear.
-
Also make sure you fit 2.1W bulbs, a lot of suppliers supply 3W bulbs which is great until you turn the illumination down to something that doesn't burn the retina of your eyes then find the display screen is to dim to read.

My local dealer sells them at £3 plus. online they are £2.95; that's not very cheap.
Do the Chinese LED bulbs dim properly?

Aren't they just standard low wattage capless bulbs that are available anywhere for a few pence each?
Or do they need to be caressed in a secret and mystical way by the Vauxhall elves to work in an Omega?

I think that you are right, Nick. A few years back I had a Volvo hatchback (NOT the hairdressers' car!) in which I replaced the panel bulbs. They had bulb carriers like those shown here, but the bulbs just pulled out, to be replaced with nude bulbs for pennies fron Wilco, I think. :y

Standard, but not the most common wattage, but available easy enough.
As said, I got mine from dealer, because they were cheap enough from dealer (40p is sitting in my memory), and they delivered them about 3 or 4 hours later. Cost and convenience made it not worth the effort dealing with the usual mongs such egay, euroshite and so on...
