shoot me if i am ahead of the game - but how do you know there gone - had them off yet?

I stand by my favourite saying this week, vx heads are mega reliable......but then again i guess 4 pots not as tough as the v6`s :-/

Time to shut up too many stellas....or not enough  ::) ;)
very true and im holdin back on buying the gasket till the heads off, but going by the loss of 4l of coolant, gas and oil mixing in the expansion bottle and the shed loads of water coming outa the exhaust blown HG is the sunny side of the coin. but on the plus side im fallin in love with a 94 primera borrowed from the GF 500 miles in the last two days hasnt missed a beat

the car may have been lowered by the previous owner
even so, the wheel should go inside the arch, not catch on it...

very true my mistake i assumed it was rubbing on the liner

I suspect it may be ECU... :(

Reseating relays on Nixoro's ABS ECU resolved his issue...

certainly worth a wiggle thanks m8

I'm not an expert in this area, so don't take my word as gospel, however,

From what you've written, if it happens when letting off the pedal - it could be a sensor issue, especially if a sensor is not quite aligned right when the calipers let go.

I would take all the wheels off, one by one, and check the alignment of the ABS sensors and clean them up.

See what happens, take it from there. My money's on a sensor if it's intermittent.

Does your Meega have Traction control?

cheers m8 it does not have traction control, il try the sensors again

my abs light has come on intermitantly over the last month or so, it will normaly but not always go out after the engine starts up, it only comes on when letting your foot off the pedal so i think its not a sensor problem. i caught it once before switching on the ignition.
i turned the key until the lights came on the abs didnt go out so i took key out and went again till the lights came on and the abs light went out if i pressed down on the pedal but came on as soon as i lifted off the brake pedal. anyone got any ideas?
