shocks front
« on: 28 September 2014, 17:01:37 »

On my Omega b 2.6v6 I suspected the shock absorbers are bad  and went to check (a bit more rocking car left & right and forward when braking they drop down and going up and down and then fit when return)
measuring show the front 39% right and 42% left and rear two a little over 60%
and buy a new front shocks (gas)
After the installation I did not notice any improvement (perhaps little or nothing) and after a month I go again to test and it show front 41 and 42% and rear again approximately 60%
I went where I bought them and they make new test with results: front 68 and 70% and the rear 80%.
I do not believe this results due to the behavior and the rear have nearly 300,000 km showing 80% and they are better than the new front ?!?!?
Vendor will accept the complaint but the procedure is to be sent to the manufacturer. Manufacturer make test and if they are poor they take all costs and if they say that they are OK I pay, and that would be more than a new shock absorbers  :-\
It's a little lame that the manufacturer decides, I think I should tell someone impartial.

omegas, especially the v6 and straight 6 ones are very front-weighted cars so I'd say it's normal to get results like that. Do you have correct pressure in front wheels and how are the bushes at front?

I have 2,9 on front and 3,1 rear and really much more firm ride than with regular 2,5. So pump your tires up and have another go :y

I have 2,9 in my 205/45/r16 and no problems :) I have always 'overfilled' my car tires because it just makes you feel the road much better and I've had zero problems because of it :y
