Newbie Welcome Area / Hello Again....

Hi All, Some of you may remember me from way way back, I used to drive an Omega and use this forum quite a lot, take part in meets at Newent and generally have some great times full stop.

I haven't had an Omega for quite some years now, since 2010 I've had several Mercedes'.  That doesn't mean that I don't have fond memories of this forum!

I was literally wondering if the forum even existed as there don't seem to be vary many Omega's on the road anymore!  I'm sure that most of the existing ones are either in mint condition and future classics or in the condition that makes a forum like this a valuable tool for their owners.

Wishing you all well and for those who remember me, please say hi!

Omega General Help / Immobiliser Chip in KEY

Hi all,
Remember me, Dave C.... ?  Hope, all's well with you all 

Well, my 18 year old has only gone and bought a VX Corsa 1.2 16v for his first car < 50k miles   Just kidding! 

Bl00dy heck over THREE GRAND for his insurance    

Anyway, he's had a spare key with it and the seller says it's not been programmed to the car, yet it starts / runs ok   

Can anyone confirm that it'll not cut out after a few miles or something silly like eject him into oblivion!

Been meaning to post this for yonks, I've got a CCRT700 in my Meega, had the issue where the volume would stay low after the car had been switched off as opposed to staying at the preset level.  When going into the engineers settings the option couln't be found to preset it, thought it was nollox'd

Recently I had the battery disconnected, and, inadvertently this has put it right...

People, please aid my dilema, how's dilemma spelt?

Not Omega, just bought a Transit Connect as I'm setting up myself since taking redundancy.  It's an ex-BT van, great nick, deadlocking, imobilised but no alarm, there is a bulkhead splitting cab / load area.  I want to fit an after market alarm with volumetrics for both areas, I don't want an extra fob, ideally I'd like something that will operate from the existing central locking triggers..  

Any suggestions on brand, model etc  or shall I buy a big dog and a fire extinguisher :question

I've asked this question before, had many replies too..  however, I can't find it on here on a search, is it me

My CCRT700 when turned off comes back on with a low volume i.e. nil...  there was a load of details for lots of weird programming for the unit... can I find it, can I ballcocks.... I even printed it off, can't find that either!!!

Anyone???

Friends, Romans, Omegaowners.

Once upon a time, not so long ago, I posted a question on here with regards to the low volume on my CCRT700 in my Elite, i.e. if I turn off the engine with the volume on, then when I restart the car the volume resets to zero...  someone posted the solution on here, I think it was a document from TIS...

Anyone?  Pleeeeeeeeeease

Just lately my CCRT700 loses it's volume memory each time the ignition is switched off.  All fuses OK!  

The handbook simply says turn the radio off at the volume required and as long as it's not too high it'll retain that volume.

Any sugestions... :-/

These are the only 2 pages in the 4 page pamphlet that are relevant to the operations for Oracle system.  The telephone number and options are correct at posting..  The anual subscription is £30, there is a bianual tariff too, just over £55....  I advise you to call them for subcription while you are sitting in the car, they'll talk you through it...  they're very pleasant and helpful

Hi Strangers,
Just fitted a pair of rear ride leveller shocks as the originals were leaking oil ( A big Thanks to Loo Knee for getting hold of a pair for me)  Gave it a general check over, wishbone bushes truly *****d, ordered a pair from fleabers, just an observation though, I've noticed a wee bit of seepage of  a clear / straw coloured oil around the steering box, this is NOT red dexron, it's a slightly thicker viscosity too.  I assume that this is just the hypoid gear oil type stuff?
Q: Can this be topped up? Secondly, will this necessarily be a fail or just an observation?

Suggestions, most welcome....

Omega General Help / Non Start - Sometimes !!

Good job I wasn't going to Newent, the bloody meega wouldn't start on Sat morning.  Called Green Flag, we both went through everything together, he tried an OBD II, wouldn't connect !  Three quarters full of fuel, the starter was turning over no probs there,  so, battery in good order, no spark and no smell of fuel at the tail pipes.  He locked the central locking and unlocked it about five times, then it bloody started as if it had never had an issue...  it ran sweet too, no evidence of flooding at all.  Immobiliser ??

Any suggestions  :question

Where the bloody hell are the fixing screws that hold the glove box hinges on, my catch mechanism is Donald Ducked, so I need to fit a second hand lid.
Anyone had any dealings with this before?

Omega General Help / Climate Control

Hi folks, not been on here for a while, very busy at the moment, just thought I'd pop on to say Hi and to get a wee bit of help as I'm a bit stuck.
Climate control playing up, If I put it on HI it's piping hot, A/C down on LO it freezes ones nuts off.  The intermediate temperatures all seem to be blowing in at the ambient outside temperature, the little sampling fan is working, I've done the paper test, also I've blown it out with an air jet, I've also sync'd the fans too.   Any other suggestions before I rip it to pieces???

Omega General Help / Oil Leak

Got a bit of a drip of engine oil from the rear of the block where it meets the transmission bellhousing, it's definately engine oil! I suspect the crank rear oil seal behind the flywheel, unless anyone may have other suggestions!
If I'm right, is it a biggish job on an autobox?  Done this before on Granada's, they're more easily accesible in my opinion though.

Any suggestions?  :-/

Omega General Help / Central Locking

Haven't had the time to check wiring diagrams yet, nor have I had the chance to wizz the door card off as yet.  It's my R O/S door, no lock or unlock, can't feel the click through the knob when activating the central locking, seems dead, has anyone experienced any common causes for this, fuses etc...
