30 billion now apparently.

In the time that has elapsed since the first leaving date and now we have paid 9 billion of what we owe.

But who actually knows?  There are a lot of things we aren't told

I read recently that our contributions had increased significantly in the last year, and that sincw the referendum we had paid on approx. £29 billion.

The UK's net contribution to the EU for the 12 months April 2018-2019 was £11.2 Billion.  :o

So with my back of a fag packet mathematics and assuming that the contribution for this year will be the same and that we actually leave on 31st October.  The amount that can be knocked off of the £39 billion should be £6.53 billion and the EU should thus revise their financial demands to £32.47 Billion.  :)

Good for Britain. Better than spending it at home on nhs, infrastructure , care for the elderly or even buckets for baling .

No doubt a new, revised and of course Higher figure will be advised by Barnier when we get to sorting out a trade deal.

I think that people (especially remainers) have forgotten that he started off by trying to scam us for a £100 billion!  >:(

I think it's right that we pay what is strictly legally due, but I'd expect that to be fraction of the £39bn.  :y

For example, about half of the £39bn was our contribution for the so called transition/implementation period from 30th March 2019 to 31st December 2020, even though the only difference practically was that we'd have no representation within the EU. No MEP's, no Commissioner, no Judge at the ECJ and no seat for the PM at the Council of Europe.  ::)

Other monies demanded by the EU and conceded by May/Robbins were money for projects that hadn't even begun yet (even though we'd given 2 years notice of withdrawal) and money upfront to cover loans that the UK had guaranteed at the European Investment Bank, even though there was no reason why we couldn't continue to guarantee those loans in the event of default!  ::)

I even think that the demands for cash to cover pensions is pretty spurious!  :-\  :-X

The only thing that's certain is that its going to get really nasty. The remainiacs will use every dirty trick in the book. Dominic Grieve more or less said so when being interviewed the other day from his home in Brittany (despite the long standing convention of MP,s not being critical of UK politics or politicians when they are outside the UK).
No wonder France gave him the legion d honneur.  ::)

There have been reports of rumours going round Westminster that government lawyers are examining whether he has broken the law as a Privy Councillor, when he was talking about bringing down the British Government from a foreign state.  :)

What a delicious irony if the government issued a European Arrest Warrant for him!  :y  ;D

I'm quite enjoying the lefty hysteria about Dominic Cummings.  :)

I don't remember the Guardian or the BBC kicking up much of a fuss about Alastair Campbell.  ::)  :-X

EU latest threat & scam is saying that VAT should have been charged on derivatives issued by the City & the UK owes the commission £1 trillion. >:( >:( >:(

I think it will get very nasty for us with the EU, Merkel & Macron all trying to punish us. Saw a similar situation with Russian trade war with Ukraine which saw Russian balance of payments surplus disappear fast & Ukraine getting much good will & trade from other countries around the world, while Russia had sanctions & were largely shunned. Ukraine boycott of Russian good by checking barcode was very effective to the point the Russian companies tried to get away with it by using Austrian registered barcodes. :y

Many leave voters are already boycotting EU fresh produce & goods where possible. Wetherspoons now source all of the EU products from alternative ROW sources. :y

If it wasn't so serious, it would be comical that the mealy mouthed hypocritical remoaners who sanctimoniously insisted that no deal should be taken off the table, thus ensuring that we were offered a lousy and unacceptable deal, have actually increased the current chances of us leaving with no deal. ;D ;D ;D
Well done guys, you really are an intelligent group and must be very proud of yourselves.  >:(
