I think the last ones made were 2004  :-\ Maybe the 2.8 diesel would suit better in that but i think they phased that unit out early  :-\

Big bro has an X5. Complete with a new £7k gearbox, that took BMW dealers years to diagnose.

What about a nice post year 2000 400bhp XJR?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-XJR-V8-AUTO-Supercharged-Absolute-Immaculate-/331351638843
I had the pleasure of using one of them (98 reg'd) for a week when we lived in Feltham back in 2001, I always swore that If the chance arose for me to have a half decent car then a Jag wouldn't be on my list of choices.
After that week of using it, my mind was changed  :y

What put you off them  ???
I'd had a couple of XJS's in the past (granted it was the early past), and aside from everything that Al listed I didn't find them impressive at all from a performance viewpoint.
If anything, the XJR is what the XJS should have have been to start with IMHO.

My current ride at the time was a Pontiac Firebird, again this wasn't overly quick and you didn't feel it when planting the throttle until you were already rolling at 30mph +
Like most Yanks it didn't do corners all that well, but it would pull itself up to 140 if you found a stretch of road long enough.
I'll post a couple of pics up when I get back home (again).
