coil pack?
« on: 11 May 2018, 16:07:47 »

investigating the cause of a misfire on the 2.5 v6 which only happens when the engine has reached operating temp (from cold drives smooth for a few miles).
after much swearing and skinned knuckles (1/4 drive deep e10 socket is essential) removed the coil pack to find this...

as you can see no.4 top right is full of green gunk so my question is will this have been caused by a poor connection of the plug lead/water ingress and if so can I clean this up and refit it or is it a faulty coil pack that needs replacing?
Cheers John.

a bit rusty and there seems to be a bit missing exposing some metal (middle left) so probably duff.

it's the early squared off type plug.
I've got a new replacement which has differently spaced mtg. holes but should do the job.
Thanks for the offer.
