Safari parks are not good for your car !
« on: 20 September 2015, 18:10:38 »

Went to Long Leat safari park the other week, and on returning home found that there must have been an Omega loving monkey there, as I have lost the rear bump strip from the drivers side. Not a big deal I thought, until I have tried to find a replacement. It would seem that some Omega parts are now starting to become hard to find.

If anyone can help, I'm looking for the drivers side section in the photo, as the car looks sh** with it missing.

First & last time I went to one of those places near here, I had a Morris Traveller & had to watch as two bloody monkeys calmly inspected and then equally calmly ripped off both wipers! I couldn't drive off as half a dozen of the 'gang' were sat in the road in front of me with a collective 'Do you feel lucky punk' look!!!! ;D

They should make stickers saying I survived the scrappage scheme and the long leat monkeys

If anyone goes again, put grapes and other fruits on your car to ensure some close up action :)

Won't go near them any more. Going back a while now..in fact Windsor Safari Park. Monkey tore a 15" full length strip of vinyl roof from my Victor FE. >:(
Good luck in your search, I would have thought there would be some about :y

Similar experience at Knowsley Safari park, I got cocky and sprayed the wiper jets on the monkey sitting on the bonnet. He gave me a look as if to say " you're gonna regret that" and then proceeded to bite the jets out of the bonnet.I went into ford and  asked for a new pair, guy just said " monkeys?" ;D

Seeing the video in EMDs related thread... I would question that the monkeys are actually being trained to do that, thereby rendering the parks liable for any damage caused, regardless of their small print :-\

Ive just thought of a brilliant business venture. I open a car hire place that rents out old bangers for poeple that want to drive round these places without the fear of monkey ripping bits off of their pride and joy :)
