I am numb with shock reading this! :'(
I regarded Mike as a dear friend & met him often in person after getting to know him on OOF.
He was a fellow ex Matelot and a thoroughly good bloke all round. Not long ago we were talking about his retirement plans from his very stressful job & new opportunities in the pipeline and how much the family were looking forward to the future. I hope to be well enough to attend his Send Off and shall pass on everyone's Condolences to his loving wife Carole, Miss Vamps and Family.
R.I.P Mike Flood, Passed over the Bar September 16th. 2016.
Taken early as only the Best are!
God Bless Mike, see you on the Other Side. :'(

Absolutely stunned at this sad news of the loss of such a decent person and such a young age. Mike will be sadly missed by all those who knew him, either face to face, or on here.  I had the pleasure to meet Mike on a few occasions, and always had a good laugh together.

My sincere condolences to those family and friends who have lost a warm, kind soul.

I kind of read this earlier and, while trying to process it, posted a few short words. Mike was a member on here for a very long time, and I feel I should say a bit more.
I never heard Mike being rude to anyone, he was always ready to listen and try to advise. He obviously adored his family and was very proud of his kids. He hinted to me a few times that his job could be very challenging, mentally and physically, and I admire him for sticking at it as long as he did. I have some idea about what was involved and, although I guess he had some pretty bad days, he never brought it on here.
In short, a very ordinary and decent man, taken far too soon. God bless you Mike.

Been on here for year's but never met Vamp's in person. I do recall his posts being regularly focussed on his daughter "Little Miss Vamps" typical dad of a teenager type stuff that resonated with me and mine greatly and it was cystal clear how much his family meant to him :y. 58 is no age to be passing on and my thoughts are with his family at such a terribly tough time x

What a shock. Just as he was starting to be able to take a well deserved rest from the stresses he'd been facing too.

RIP, Vamps, and our thoughts are with miss Vamps and the rest of his family. :'(

So very sad and shocked to hear of such a sudden loss.  I've never met Mike, but enjoyed his posts, and many late evening chats with him (Vamps). Life's certainly not fair to go at such a young age.
My thoughts and sincere condolences are with his family.
RIP Mike - you will be missed.
