Hi all does anyone know if an auto can be flat towed if the prop is removed. I seem to remember seeing this somewhere. :-?

Depends how far you want to go. Vauxhall says
Vehicles with automatic transmission 3
should be towed facing forwards only and
must not be towed faster than 50 mph
(80 km/h) or further than 60 miles (100 km).
If the transmission is defective, or if the above
speed or distance is to be exceeded, the drive
shaft must be disconnected from the rear axle
or the rear axle raised off the ground

The last bit is a load of 'dangle berries' though ;D

Timbuk ... yu de man

It was the fuse.  That will teach me to look at the simple things first.

I also know what blew the fuse.  The other day I had pumped up the tyres with a compressor running off the cigarette lighter.  It suddenly stopped working as the cigarette plug broke.  It must have shorted the socket out at the same time.  I had completely forgotten about that and had not driven the car since.

Many many thanks the steering is nice and light again ... I owe you one    8-)

Easy Fix :y :y :y

thats not as bad as I thought thank you. I had a rough price for the shocks off Loo Knee so its not all doom and gloom now... (apart from the fact that I dont have spring compressors)

Cheap enough to buy ;)
