General Car Chat / CD500 Navigation System in my Insignia.
« on: 22 September 2014, 16:35:22 »
My Navi system has a facility in the menus to set vehicle parameters.

i.e. Trailer attached, then the options to set - None : Small or Large.

Doesn't seem to work, dealer (surprise, surprise) hasn't got a clue!

So I contacted the Map supplier, here is their response.

Thank you for inquiring about HERE Maps.

Your navigation system and the map update is not designed for caravan's or trailor criteria. It is stictly for car navigation and does not take the height, weight and width of your caravan in to consideration. Unforutnately such a map update is not available for your navigation system.

Should you require additional information, please send us your feedback by replying to this email .

With kind regards,

Question, one of the reasons I bought the car with this particular Nav. was because of this feature.

Why is the feature there if it doesn't work?

Where do I go from here?

Whilst we were away in Cornwall for the last 2 weeks, the carbon monoxide detector kept going off for no apparent reason.

No gas appliances were being used when it did go off.

Yesterday I emailed FireAngel, this morning had a phone call, new one in the post, plus a pre-paid envelope to return the old one.

That's what I call service :y

Wonderful, and so was the weather in Cornwall.

Beautiful site, overlooking the sea, saw the tall ships sail out of Falmouth from my recliner, nursing a glass of Cornwall's finest :y

Didn't want to come back, but needs must :(

Glad you all have a great time at Newent, sorry I missed it.

General Car Chat / Tyre Pressure Monitoring - Part II
« on: 25 August 2014, 09:20:43 »
Solved the problem, it's my air compressor gauge that's up the duff.

Always been very reliable, always checked out against a digital and manual gauge - until now.

Reading approx. 5/6 psi low.

T'was OK the previous time I used it to increase the pressures for towing, but faulty when I reset the tyres for normal driving.

Shall check with a manual gauge in future.

At least I know the monitoring system can be relied upon :y
