« on: 06 June 2020, 21:50:11 »

Just a quickie.....does the coil pack for the 2.5 fit the 3.0,it's just that there seems to be two types of plugs, oval or square and different positions of the plugs...TIA :y

Both the same for any given age, believe the round plugs are the newer ones, mfl on, but never had one to confirm  :-\

There's actually three variants.

Bosch part number 0221503017 (GM# 90541062) has the harness plug at the end of the unit in the same orientation as the plug lead pillars. The harness connector has oval ends as in the picture here. This is the most recent design. And was in use on MY '97 cars produced from around August 1996 onwards.

Bosch 0221503010 (GM# 90511450) has the connector in the same place as the one above, however the connector has square ends.

Bosch 0221503002 (GM# 90444184) also has a flat ended harness connector, however the connector is positioned on the wall of the unit at 90° to the plug lead pillars.

I imagine the only functional difference between them is the harness connector shape and the mounting orientation. I'd be looking for a genuine Bosch part that matches the one on the car. Most of the clones are short lived and these are a bit of a PITA to replace.
