Some interesting ideas here, thank you.  Having two cats here means there's always plenty of cat litter in stock.  I need to do something before the landlord catches up with me....

I've got the transmission fluid and engine oil to change this weekend, so will wait until that is out of the way then give it a go.  No point in me cleaning it then getting it stained again.  No matter how much cardboard I use to put under the car, I always seem to spill some somewhere!
