What is the average mileage for a car nowadays?
10,000 or 12,000 per year

Last time I saw a figure it was suggested to be  14k.
Mine is currently less than 8k.

What makes you ask?

Depends, a little dolly might rack up 3k going to the shops and local job.  A long distance rep will rack up 30k.

I'm on about the yearly national average for a car when selling
As you may have seen I have a diesel estate for sale 2001 done 175,000
It's 15 years old so is it low mileage or high mileage
15 x 10,000 = 150,000 so 175,000 is high mileage
15 x 12,000 = 180,000 so 175,000 is low mileage

Parkers says 40000 on a four year old car, so they must class it as 10000.

And the rest.  I was doing 25-30k just commuting and occasional business related mileage.

OP. Depends whether you're refering to the mean / median / mode average as they'll be wildly different.  And if you're looking to relate it to a car then bigger cars (generally speaking) will have done much more than the mean average.  (Mrs Goggins doesn't drive an S-class to the post office every other tuesday).

Yeah, funny how that figure hasn't changed a mile since I started driving eh.  Silly buggers.

In 2005 I bought my Mum a new 05 plate Corsa to replace her rusted out Nova (using mostly GM card points).

It's just clocked up 8000 miles (and I did 2000 of those in the first few months). It'll be due it's first service soon - perhaps in 2020 ish.  ;D

Could this be considered a sexist remark?
