Bosch Park Pilot Constant Beep.
« on: 17 June 2017, 22:07:59 »

Here's a small clip with the beeping sound it makes with the purple fuse removed, Presumably some kind of error code?

With the fuse in place there's just a constant beep sound.

The guide should be a help...

Or, refit the Notactuallyafuse and with the ignition on and car in reverse, place a finger on each sensor in turn. The defective one won't tingle your finger. Tap and repeat. If still not working, test the wiring between the sensor and the unit. If that checks out, then remove the bumper and the sensors. Then pop the rubber ring off and clean all of the assembly carefully and thoroughly.  :y

As you have refused the link, look up the error code :y

It is technically the correct way, as it tells you what the ecu is seeing, and hence what its grumbling about.

The finger trick can help identify a non-working sensor, but can't see any gains over the inbuilt diagnostics.

Mine did this recently, I just gave each sensor a gentle "thump" with the flat of my hand.

Over a month later, still going strong

Thanks for the replay, Sorry I've not had a chance to respond or look into this yet due to a bereavement.

I'll try the methods suggested above and take it from there  :y

If one of the sensors appears to be faulty can these be bought easily enough or used only?

Thanks again.

PS: TB I'm not sure what you mean by refused the link?

It's been clean for a while, actually problems started when it was spotless.

Had a quick look.

One sensor is definitely not working and I'm not sure about another (possibility working intermittently) where as 2 sensors are working as they should.

I do have a spare Omega with 4 fully working sensors and that's working as it should but that car is currently off the road / spare car. The bumper isn't in as good a condition as the one on the car I use so swapping the whole thing over isn't really an option. Are they easy enough to remove/fit?

I'll check over the wiring firstly etc... Before doing anything else.

Easy enough to remove / fit the sensors when you've removed the bumper.

Polish residue around the edges of the sensor ;)

Anything that can stop the inner bit moving in relation to the outer bit...

...if it happened just after washing, and a pressure washer was used, go stand in a corner and give yourself a good talking to ;D
