I did,nt buy the Cheapo Opel Tech 2  but I did download the software that you use with it.

Just run Lavasoft says ide21201.vxd in the Opeltech directory is winAD Malware ??????

What it does:    Opens unsolicited websites/pop up windows
                       Operates in stealth
                       Auto-updates without user permission and/or knowledge

There is not an official download site anywhere, so any sites hosting it may well be 'dodgy' - even more so that it appears to have morphed into a full commercial product.

My Lavasoft AdAware Personal Edition did not detect anything in the 'TECH-2' software folder - so I am assuming youn just have bad copy...?

I just ran spyware ....well left it running this afternoon....nothing found wrong with tech2 software, as MarkJay says perhaps you have a dodgy copy  :-/
