Dysan motor to clutch belt deffo needs sorting, just a large piece of junk sat in the corner at the moment but a far better vac the Shark that was going to replace it. :-\
well worth keeping a CORDED Dyson going  :y
parts are east to get ,and relatively easy to replace

Unlike the Shark offerings , no parts available and deliberately designed to stop DIY repair  :(

i've still got 2 DC03s ,2 DC04s ,1 DC07 (20 years old ,still sucks like a $5 hooker)   and 2 DC14s

I should really replace the cable on ours .... the outer insulation is split in places, especially the bits that continually get wrapped around the cable tidy bits.

I's on my ''to-do'' list  ::)

I saw a lot of Mercs on recovery trucks today. I know the SAM on Smarts is prone to water ingress from rain, does it impact other Mercs?

Also saw 7 or 8 Prius' on recovery trucks as well

the 452/Roadster more so than others. Never had a problem with my 451 though. I suppose it impacts on ALL Mercs if you drive through 3' of water like a d1ckhead.
The wading depth of my ML isn't that deep even with its Airmatic & 'off road' pack. At least the air feed is bonnet level.

I wonder how many people lost their jobs after this little lot
..

They have no business driving with an IQ that low, what in the world did they expect to happen, even the vehicles meant for those conditions are taking a chance.

It does take all kinds to drown their vehicle though ...

General Car Chat / Re: Get A Dashcam! Just do it
« on: 25 October 2023, 08:33:48 »
...... Thank god I had a dashcam. It was 7am on a wet January morning but thankfully it clearly showed I stopped and was then hit some 10 seconds later. .....
I had a similar thing. Sat in a queue, about 3 or 4 cars back from the traffic lights, lights changed & every thing started to move but the car infront stalled. I then got hit up the backside! The girl that hit me then said .... "you didn't move!"  ???
Ages later I was asked to fill in an accident report by my insurers .... who was where etc. I phoned to question why I needed to. As soon as I said I'd a dash cam that showed I was stationary when hit they said don't bother with the form & they'd sort it.

Anyone know how far it is to go around the ford? Other than to stop the halfwits that try to drive though at speed why did they need to block it off? If you have a vehicle  that's capable of driving through the ford when it's at normal water levels why not let them  :-\

It can be a fair trek, the farmers are not happy as they often travel from fields one side to farms on the other, then its a big detour plus single track lanes

I wonder if the locals were asked if they wanted it closed then.

I'm sure a couple of concrete blocks could easily be moved  ....  ::)

I have 4 genuine new, still in the boxes, Nissan Navara D40 Alloy wheels in my garage loft. I also had a pair of hardly used headlights and taillights from the same D40 Navara. I took them to our local car breakers and offered him these parts for free. He said he needed the vehicle VIN and any other documentation to prove that they came off our vehicle. The D40 has long since gone so he wouldn’t accept them, even for free.  :-\
I ended up taking the headlights and taillights to the tip but still have the alloys. Seems a shame to dump them but they’re of no use to me.

.......
;D ;D  Yep Andy, age catches up with us and things we would easily do in our 20's suddenly becomes very hard. ::) ;)

And speaking as an older male, things that used to be very hard in your 20's aren't so hard, or don't stay as hard for so long.  ::)  ;D

 ;D  ;D ;D

Worked on loads of them, not a bad motor TBH. Putting on my best M Cane voice, did you know they used the Maxi doors on the Marina.

you sure?  ??? No Marina/Range Rover/Scimitar/etc door handles on a Maxi  ;)
I know the Maxi shared doors with the Land Crab though

« on: 10 October 2023, 16:23:17 »
And we have a secret B&S saddo on the site, isn't that right Mr YZ250 ;D

 ;D ;D

This only came about when Mrs YZ got herself an allotment a few years back (given it up now). I have no interest in growing stuff and my knowledge of such things is zero, but because I’m a thoughtful hubby I mowed the large plot that she had for her. On one occasion the mower started playing up, so I stripped it apart, whacked a carb kit on it for less than a tenner and away it went.  :y  The chap on the next plot had seen me working on it and asked if I’d look at his broken Hayter Harrier, so I fixed that. Somehow word spread that I was the Go To man for fixing/servicing mowers, rotavators, strimmers, chainsaws and hedge trimmers. I had them lined up in my garage. It then progressed to servicing/repairing the school ride on mower, the Toro general mower and the cricket pitch cylinder mower. I eventually had to call a stop to it.  ;D

Atco have been around for a million years so you should be ok with it.  :y

when can I bring you my Atco?  ;D It'll run of a fashion ....  :-\
Oi! There's a queue...
;D ;D
