Howdy y'all!
« on: 18 September 2006, 22:34:13 »

Hola!  I like bought a Caddy-Yak Catera on Saturday and then I like found this site and it's like totally gnarly dude!

Ok, so I don't really talk like that, but 2 guesses where I'm from?  (I hope these forums aren't big on politics or I'm hosed!)

I'm in Warwickshire.  Would appreciate advice on local service and possibly the intervention of some VX deity with V6 cam locks!?!  Yes, and the DVD.

Glad to meet ya,

theolodian

Cool, thanks, you guys sure are friendly!  Maybe not so playful though, no guesses?  I see Ireland has our good old boy doing a one-finger salute.  And yes, Theo is fine.

Hmmm, maybe the Internet has 'matured' a lot since the last time I used forums.  At least it's not just me!  I can't believe that people aren't guessing.  I have left so many hints!  No, I'm not Irish, one of the Irish members here has a little animation of our great leader  :-?

That's cool.  I was getting worried for a moment.  Yeah, some of the Cadillacs look identical, and some have lights all the way across the back.  They all seem to be a beige/gold color?

I see from your pics that you have some really nice looking sport seats.  Are those part of the MV6 spec?  My seats are pristine except the heaters don't work, so not worth changing but man those sport seats look nice!

On that subject why do driver's seats never go as low as the passenger's seat?  Is it some universal law?

Retail MV6 (as opposed to ex Police MV6) have sports seats. Leather was an option on MV6. Sports pack for Elites also has the same seats...

Are your seats leather? Common for the heaters to fail, and needs a specilaist to repair (seat has to be unstitched)

As to heights, I'd never noticed  :-[

Cheers for that.  Yeah, leather.  Rear heaters work but not the fronts.  Having the upholstery off seats often isn't as expensive as you might think, but maybe still not worthwhile - at least until it gets colder.

A big ol' hello back to all you guys saying hi!

Comes with membership eh?  "Welcome to the club.  That will be 3 quid, and here's your DVD.  Study it well for your initiation test, which may or may not involve sheep, but will certainly involve lubricant, strange metal implements, chanting, drinking, unnatural positions, scrapes, bruises, a sore back, and a very annoyed girlfriend."

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I don't know if anyone else here appreciates my humour, but I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!  Maybe we should make that into a disclaimer for the DVD?   :o

Still laughing, maturity is an illusion!  ;D

I think that was mostly limited to Georgia, although pregnant convicts were 'exiled'.  The way things are these days I'm surprised people don't think we're a former colony for the mentally handicapped!

At least I laughed about the cambelt initiation!  Tough crowd.

Unfortunately I don't have the facilities to host a cambelt party.  Looks like I'm doing mine on Saturday.  If someone does host a cambelt party later I should be able to help out.  Know any other members in the area?

Don't know any other members in the area, but TheBoy has kindly offered to give me a hand if & when I ever get the courage to give it a go (although I don't think he knows what he's getting himself into!  :o). Timbuk is originally from here & says he'll also come along if possible.

BTW, that is a nice Elite Theolodian. Once the headlight is sorted, and the cambelt/cam gaskets/breathers, that will be real good.

Thanks!  Major props for all the generous help, you're the man!

I'll probably fiddle with my light at the cambelt party, although if I get fed up or my back hurts too much I might throw it back together after the belt and do the cam covers at the party.

My sat nav tried to send me into Banbury on the way back?!

that will be real good.

Where do you live again TB ? Northamptonshire or New Hampshire ::)

Oh yeah?  Wait 'til the party and you'll be speaking real english too!   I mean really, a boot is footwear and a bonnet is headware.  I know people give their cars women's names, but calling the parts by women's clothes!?  What's the windscreen, cleavage?  ;)

See, didn't even have to wait for the party to get people started on American!  Sounds like it's going to be a blast.   8-)

4 pages on a newbie post?  Not bad.

Not my first  :o  Maybe I'll be an Omega Expert by the end of this thread  ;)  On second thought probably not.  I'll probably get kicked off the newbie forum whenever I move on to 'junior member' or whatever the next level is.  When is that anyway?  I have to get ready for a whole new round of bad jokes.  Junior member, oh dear!

Correction, Catera Expert.  I don't know why everyone keeps miss-pronouncing it.  It's Ka-tare-ah, not Uh-mee-gah  ;)
