Crying out to be bought, painted like something from a Gerry Anderson Supermarionation series (maybe the Spectrum Patrol Vehicle) and taken on a banger rally..

Does it have to be a car?

For that sort of cash you can get a modern Transit sized van with all sorts of gadgets, extra seats and engines.

Or the slightly smaller Kangoo/ Connect/ Berlingo small to mid sized vans

Plenty of room in the back and more comfortable to kip in than an estate

If its a car then the £5k gets you a 2009-2010 160bhp diesel Inshitnia estate, if you like that sort of thing

Lot less than that gets you a V6 turbo Vectra estate and they are easily as big as an Omega

E class Mercedes estate?
