Hello....new here, and new to the Omega. Hoped someone might enlighten me as to some of it's mysteries??
Just got a 2000 facelift CD V6.....it has it's issues, but currently drives beautifully. Likes to leave puddles of oil everywhere after a run, but doesn't seem to lose in worrying quantity according to dipstick.
Had the cold heater issue...replaced outside air temp sensor...hasn't made a difference except for now showing correct temp on display. Although noticed when engine temp guage rises on slow runs...get warm air, but motorways...guage plummets...and cold air again??
The main question at this point is.....whilst searching for temp sensor....found wire with plug (unattached)...can't see/feel anything for it to plug into??? It's located next to the washer filler sensor (to the right of it)....to the left of washer sensor is another wire/plug sunk into washer bottle.(guessing that's power to the wash bottle pump?)....The mystery wire looks like the female for a multi pinned male connector, and is cable tied to other wire so that it seems as if it should plug into something nearby....can't find anything though??....Any ideas?
Not mechanicly minded at all, and I reckon I may have bitten more than I can chew with this car!!

It's for a secondary pump on vehicles fitted with HID Headlights wich require a washer setup.
Mrs VXL V6's CD Estate has the same tied up connector. :y

Possibly to connect headlamp washers up to on the Elite model ? :-/

What an awkward design! I was pondering throwing a new 'stat on mine as the temperature does tend to wander a fair bit depending on outside temperature and A road/motorway, but now..
I'll leave it till I have half the engine in bits, apparently.. ;D

Sure am....at least I can now freeze without worrying about that particular issue. Don't know if I've the bottle to have a go at the Thermostat on my own. It warms up eventually to a comfortable temp...so not life & death at the mo.
Although a great car....it was a cheap one, so refuse to spend lots of money on running repairs...would be better to get 6 - 8 months out of this, and buy another if I had to.
Makes more sense to me than repair bills.

got a similar problem with mine just seen the video clips eeeeekk !!! to say i'm no muppet as far as getting my hands dirty but wtf!!! gona let someone else do it :'(
