I rather think my money would be going on this one. Mostly because I love a wagon, in a nice colour too  :y

Another one of them here:

I was very tempted by Phil's Omega when I was looking for a replacement for the BMW, but with the mileage I do,  the derv V70 won the contest.  :(

If I was in the market for a proper car ,I'd go for newest ,low mile I could find .
like this clicky
long MOT,low miles, ultra rare z157 silver  8)
I'd have to dump the leather (I don't have a fetish ::))
and "Grimsby" is a warning flag ,is it a puff the magic dragon car  :-\

2.6 CDXi ,Not a 3.2, BUT how often is the extra pint (578ml) of CC really going to make much difference on todays roads  :-\

I am however looking for a shopping trolley, having been told ,the last of the Corsas must be culled  from the fleet in favour of another astra  ;D
and as we know, you can't put shopping in an Omega without seriously upsetting the complex suspension geometry  :-X :P ;D

Sorry, going to disagree, the 2.6 I had made all the right V6 noises but was gutless compared to  a 3.2, it also used more fuel.

Clearly never driven one... I mean why have 217 bhp/290Nm when you can have a whole 176/240 :D

No I have not tried the 3.2
google says 0 to 60 in 8 (3.2 auto saloon)
google says 0 to 60 in 9.2 (2.6 auto saloon)

BUT how often is the extra pint (578ml) of CC really going to make much difference on todays roads  :-\

so 1.2 seconds then W.O.T
I allow enough time in journeys not to worry about 1.2 seconds  :P and only really have to floor my pitifully slow 2.6 merging dual carriage ways or overtaking vicars  :D

My diesel astra auto is as quick(slow) as the 2.6, give or take a nanosecond.

0-60 times are for spotty yoofs. And Webby.

What you, should, be worrying about is mid range grunt, which the 2.6 lacks. Alot.

It's the difference between being flattened by a foreign artic. Or not.

My 2.6 (2001) was a low mileage 51,000 when I bought it in2010 kept it serviced correctly covered another 50,000 miles in the 5 years I had it & never missed a beat cost me £1995 from a Vauxhall main dealership absolute bargain.

It isn't that the 2.6 is shit, it's rather that the 3.2 is much better.  :y

Have had both V6s and Desmonds with both gearboxes, and I would take a Desmond over the 2.6 because it is much rev happier. Not an issue with the 3.2 because of the massive torque delivery difference  8) oh, and a manual 3.2 will hit 60 is seven seconds if you're brutal enough ::)

I have to agree with Mr VXL here. The 2.6 is a bit of a dog really.  Whilst on paper it might look to be not a million miles from the 3.2, when you drive one, its clear that the 3.2 is in a different league to the 2.6.

Obviously, the 3.0 was the pick of the bunch, but none put into Vauxhalls after 2000.

Mr Dave the builder, didn't mean to cause any offence.

It really is worth having an hour driving a well maintained 3.2 and you'll find what a different car it is compared to a 2.6. The power delivery is different, there's bags more torque available in the midrange and WOT acceleration is a totally different experience.

Because it's got more torque it's a much more effortless car to drive, wether thats motorway or town driving. Yes it might drink a little more in stop start city traffic but I found it was better over all on fuel for me (Do about 35K a year driving all over the Country - so lots of Motorway miles helps).

I should state that I am comparing Auto's above.

I have owned 4 x 3.2 V6 (Still have three, don't ask!), 1 x 2.6 V6 (later had G cams fitted) and 2 x 2.2 DTi, All Saloons and Elite (so the most heavy model!) with the exception of one DTi which was CD spec Estate.

any reply  I made that may imply I was offended is just my dry sense of humour , Im a p155 taking tw@   ;D

I'm unlikely to find a 3.2 when i kill my 2.6 anyway  :P
