One-touch total closure (FAO Mark)
« on: 15 January 2007, 23:15:00 »

I thought about an add-on that allows you to close the windows and/or sunroof with the remote, but having to press it only once (or twice) rather than hold down the button. I remember discussing this a while back over on the dark side (before this place existed) but I forgot about it before getting round to it.

The original thread is here, I'm just wondering if anyone, and Mark in particular, got any further with this. It seems if we can get a little timer circuit made up it will be an easy mod with only a few easily accessible wires needing to be soldered.

Personally I'd prefer a system where activating the deadlocks also activates the closure feature, but the exact implementation details aren't a big issue.

BTW The eBay seller who was selling such units for Astras, Vectras, etc doesn't seem to be selling them any more, or at least I can't find anything along these lines.

Cool cheers, I may go down that route as it saves fiddling around with stripboard, and IIRC they were only around a tenner :)

I actually have a login for Vectra Sport, as my dad had one years ago (2.2 DTi CDX) so I used it to get info on various things. Assuming they haven't deleted it through inactivity ;)

I was looking at something a bit more sophisticated based around total closure on lock not deadlock, that way you could press the remote twice to deadlock and still leave the windows slightly open if you wished...

I also plan (need to allocate some time) to do a setup for the facelift boot opener based on the vehicel speed signal....i.e. vehicle moving=boot opening disabled...you coull then also take it a stage further to do auto lock whilst moving....

I like the sound of that, my brother had it on his Laguna & my boss had it about 10 years ago on his Jag (originally owned by Richard Branson).

This is a great idea if it could be done easily.

I hate having to hold the button for so long to shut the windows.

FYI... I fitted a kit from www.totalclosure.com today, works a treat. See my thread in the general chat forum.
