Hi All,
I'm a relative newcomer to Omega ownership - although back in the days before company cars became an un-affordable luxury I worked my way through numerous Cavaliers, Carltons and eventually a Senator. (E419BFC - be interesting to know if it's still around? )
I've bought the car as a workhorse - 2.2 16v petrol with auto - 91K and seems very sound beyond the obvious fault of the wishbones bushes needing urgent replacement - braking was becoming interesting! The build quality is good and the interior has survived well, engine seemed sound and it drove nicely (apart from the braking/wishbones)
I guess I really wanted to say how useful i have found this site! All the information contained has been most welcome!
Jobs completed so far (1000 miles completed):-
- Cambelt
Oil & Plugs & Filters
Wishbones
Cam Sensor Change
Freeing up the windscreeen wiper spindles
Sorting the windscreen lower seal to avoid the dreaded plug-holes full of water (I'd never have spotted that one!)
Things that need investigation:-
Gearbox Operation - ratio selection seems very hit and miss. Intention is to start with an ATF level check
