Spare doors are inside garage, finished and waiting to be replaced.
It cost me less than 100e to get this far and I think it's quite a good price and result for DIY job  :y :y

painting jobs are always a trouble but if you dont like it you can always sand and re-paint when you do yourself :) :y

With a spray gun, can't compare it with a can really. Only thing that a can worked out to be good for is to paint a bike - only my opinion. I tried to do some repairs on previous cars with a can but the results are in most cases worse than I could imagine  :-X

So here she is, not a perfect angle to take a photo but I still need to pick up all the tools from my parking place  ;D

Doors replaced, other parts polished and waxed, only things to respray are plastic trims under the door. Not bad for a 16 y old barge ;)

after 2 weeks (at least) slightly wet sand with 2000 (if you have trizact 3000 then also use it) until orange peel is lost (be careful not to remove laquer)  and than use G3 to polish (if you have a polisher use lowest rpm)

and as for plastic parts

a) sand them with 220 , spray plastic primer wait 5-10 minutes then spray normal primer filler then sand with 500-600 and then paint it

or

b) sand with 500 , spray plastic primer then paint it.. :y

Sanding it with 2000 :o? Wouldn't that ruin it? Just asking - never tried that one before... :-[

nope.. it will remove the orange peel look and any dusts and imperfections.. (tip: use an old 2000 or rub itself)  but when sanding  you have to stop every 5-6 passes , stop, wash , dry and check for surface..  when the surface becomes clean without any trace, polish it with G3

and if you desire , after drying you can even sand with 500 and spray another 2-3  layers of clearcoat :) :y

ps: before anything wait 1-2 weeks for it to dry completely
