General Car Chat / Ford Kuga PHEV
« on: 30 January 2023, 15:33:13 »
Trying to do my bit for the planet, I swapped my 7 year old 2.0l petrol Mondeo, which has been absolutely faultless, I’ve only paid for service items, for a 1 year old, 6k, Kuga PHEV, and would like to test the batteries, can anyone recommend an OBD tester which will work on these cars?
Apologies wrong section, admins please move to Gen car chat.

As above, came off my MFL estate, (I think), or, less likely, my FL saloon, just rediscovered in garage. Part numbers are:
HL: 90 565 803
Fogs: 90 457 820, 90 457 819
I also have an auto gearbox controller, the triangular piece that fits on the shaft and its cable and socket. I’m not sure whether this is Omega or Carlton, part number is 2 360 over 081798.
Perhaps someone with parts access can positively identify the above parts.
All free for collection or postage costs.

I’ve had a 4 kw array, cost ~£14k, for 12 years, so get the full FIT. In cash terms it was paid for in 8 years, but as I only started keeping records when they were fitted, I can’t tell how much leccy I haven’t used, but I would guess it probably took the return back to 7 years. In the past 4 years I’ve received £3500 in tax free FIT.
For interest my roof is a few degrees West of due South so arguably ideal, yet a neighbour who had a similar array fitted split between each E/W roof face only 6 years ago, (roof is at right angles to mine) generates ~ 10% more than me. I assume that this due to more efficient equipment.
I cannot understand, given climate change, energy costs etc. why it is not mandatory to fit solar roof tiles to new houses, or could it be that a Conservative Govt. receives financial support from energy companies?

I had a £4 fine for a driving offence in 1958, and have been to the US multiple times on hols and working, I never mentioned it, and am fairly sure I didn’t need to.

Our kid was diagnosed with liver cancer 12 months ago. He's still alive, just.
Cancel that.

Just caught up with this Steve. Very sorry for your loss.

A seriously good bit of literary aviation nostalgia, enhanced by the nod to Ernie Gann’s classic, Fate is the Hunter.

Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts. We are still going on our trip to Grenada in two hours time, and which we had hoped she would share with us. Instead we shall celebrate her life in the place that she loved and had shared many happy times with us.
