Yup :y

Ex Thames Valley/Bedfordshire... be aware that low (ie below 100k ) mileage generally means that the car spent most of it's working life in the workshops...

Had a look at three at one auction: one had 45k and was cosmetically ok, mechanically donald... was dripping oil and water on the floor :o second had 76k and was generally rough and barely running, whilst the third had just over 100k looked like it had been on the touring car circuit but ran really sweetly enough.

Apart from Met cars, which do no miles due to never crossing the M25, any half decent ex plod purchase should have 100k as a minimum, and if at all possible, try and buy petrol ;)

Also, if you're wanting to go down the Vectra estate route, then my recommendation would be either the 1.8 or the 2.8, manual depending on your need for speed...

If you're considering the plod route, then consider a visit to WOMA, www.woma.co.uk over in Witney... they hold a plod sale every other Thursday... :y

If its ex-driving school its possible won't have had any baten burg or holes in the roof for lights / sirens. Driving school cars are mainly plain white unmarked but well loved i.e. well looked after. They are used for the 1st few weeks of the driving course before you're deemed suitable to move up to the livered vehicles. For an 08' plate its not done a lot of miles  :-\ :-\ :-\ our BM's usually have triple that mileage within 3 years, although there aren't many bobbies these days doing the advanced course due to cutbacks.

Definitely driving school, which would explain low miles - but still check it hasn't had a haircut. If theyre driven in school they don't get the "get there NOW" abuse of operational cars...

When used they get more abuse, especially being an advanced training car, in as much as you have to prove you can drive it like you stole it & still be safe  ::) ::)
