Hadn't specifically heard of it before, but there's a logic to it... Remember when previously discussing the pros and cons of quad electrode plugs and lpg... The argument being thst the extra electrodes shielded the spark affecting the ignition ;)

Another reason not to buy a direct injection car :-\

Used to be common on tuned engines with weedy distributor based ignition systems. High power, mapped ignition engine management has dramatically reduced the need for doing it in all but the most critical cases
