I'm needing the 4 clips/clamps for fitting the plastic trim on the rear wing of an '02 estate car.
I think the part no is 9148386.
I have tried several Vauxhall dealers without success.

Thanks.

Hi all,

I'm in need of a rear bumper for our estate after an altercation with a brick wall   :o
Z157 star silver ideally, obvs needs to be in good condition.
I am in North Essex but am happy to travel a reasonable distance or could possibly arrange a courier.

Cheers, JD

Cars for Sale & wanted / Any recent intel on discounted parts?
« on: 31 March 2018, 12:51:02 »
I need a new bonnet release cable & new bonnet latch spring.
Which are the best places, if any, for discounted Vauxhall parts?
The information I have seen is quite dated; are there any current suppliers I should try?
Thanks...

Omega General Help / Bonnet release cable removal
« on: 30 March 2018, 11:53:41 »
I'm struggling to remove the bonnet release cable lever in the cabin foot well.  :-[
Does anyone have any knowledge on how to remove it.
It looks to me like it has a lug or two that holds it in place. I'm trying to force it towards the rear of the car as it looks like it might slide that way...?

Given that I have just snapped mine,  :-[  anyone have a bonnet release cable knocking around?
I assume they're all the same?!
Thanks...

Got in the car this morning - the stereo outer lights are on, so are the lights for the stereo controls on the steering wheel and the dash display has stopped showing the date. The stereo is now not working.
Fuses all seem OK....I'm thinking take the stereo out first. If it has a problem, would it effect the display?
Any thoughts please...

Cars for Sale & wanted / Project anyone?... or spares car.
« on: 25 February 2018, 12:30:57 »
We have changed our plans - I purchased this to fix up, over a year ago, to have for occasional use / to be left in France but now doing something else.

09/2001 '51' 2.6 auto estate CD. Z157 silver / fantastic condition grey cloth interior.
Usual spec: vgc alloys with good tyres, tow bar, luggage cover, roof bars, heated seats.
No MOT - failed on several items, see failure sheet I will upload shortly.
Along with the MOT items, will also need a rear bumper. Nearside rear door has a scrape along it's length. Cracked mirror glass o/s.
Has had a recent battery, new filters & oil.
Very good service history, cambelt has been changed twice, current mileage 80700
She is in far too good condition to split up in my view but hey!
I will upload some pictures this afternoon.
Please pm if any interest.

I managed to break the battery clamp when fitting my new battery! IDIOT! :-[
I have a new one on order but what's the best way to make the clamp fit the terminal post? Should I file down the post or maybe try to make the clamp bigger again & use heat this time?

General Car Chat / Vans.... any experts?
« on: 20 January 2018, 11:22:50 »
I am in the market for a van. It is the first I will have ever purchased & therefore my experience is zero! ::)
Leaving shortly to go & look at a Mercedes Sprinter 314 & 313.
I'm not buying today but need a hands on experience!
I need as big an interior space as possible & good fuel economy.
I have shortlisted it down to 3: Mercedes Sprinter XLWB High roof; Ford Transit same size; Iveco which is bigger still.
Anyone got a view on these?: good, bad, avoid completely, tips etc etc

I will be online again this salvo!  :y

General Discussion Area / Welding at Lidl....
« on: 17 January 2018, 15:52:50 »
Months ago I posted about trying my hand at welding for the first time.
Still no further cos' work work & more work.

Had the day off today, got roped in to a shopping trip but came across this welder machine at Lidl:

www.lidl.co.uk/en/Non-Food-Offers.htm?articleId=9615

Eventually, I want to weld a motorbike frame - a project I have on the go but have not touched for a few months.

What does anyone think about this welder? It seems like a reasonable price & comes with a 3 year warranty but is it any good?  :-\

I got into the car this morning, turned the wipers on & the drivers side wiper was not there! Thieving bastards.........
Of course, I didn't notice before the sweep so have probably put a dirty great scratch across the screen  :(
Happy New Year one & all....

General Car Chat / Old batteries- do they have a scrap value?
« on: 03 January 2018, 18:14:47 »
I don't know how I managed it but I somehow prised open my wallet & purchased a new battery today for the spare Omega.
I'm now thinking: can I recoup some of the cash by getting something back for the knackered old one? :o
Any thoughts anyone?
