The drivers door puddle light has stopped working. Changed bulb with unit still in the door, but still no light.
Obviously I have managed to prise out the 'glass' of the light unit, but I know the main body of it should also be coming out as per the Haynes Manual, but what is the best way to do so without breaking the plastic please?
Seems to be quite resistant in my early attempts to remove; is there a trick to it please?

Yes, or at least the interior lights go on and off as the door is opened and closed.

No DG, nothing done to the door at all thanks.
Can the connector plug to the light unit work loose as the door is constantly opened and closed?
I want to get behind the light unit but as I said I am afraid of breaking the stubborn thing. ;)

There's a notch top and bottom towards the 'wider' iirc end... Insert a couple of wooden coffee stirrers and push the tabs towards each other and pop the unit out.
The lens shouldn't be removable... (it's bonded on) ::)

I've never had to araldite all four lenses back on either........

Thanks DG, the lens came off easily with it having fastening tags top and bottom.
I will now use your tip to get the rest out :y

They are only there to hold it in place whilst the bondong sets ;)

I tried your method of removal and it worked a treat!! :-* :-* :y
Never worked on a car before with two old fashioned spoons, but hey any tool that does the job is fine by me!
The rear connector had worked loose and as soon as I pushed it firmly on the light came to life 8) 8)
