Was briefly mentioned @ the Yorks. meet. Given the late time of year & the laugh we had & friends met @ the last one, reckon we can squeeze one in before Chrimbo. More of a get together than a main meet but workshop open for smaller jobs given it's only an afternoon jobbie so no need for bbq's camping gear etc. Curry will be laid on as will be sausages/burgers etc. i'll just fry 'em up indoors. House open to all so no worries about the cold/wet weather.
Thinking late October or early November on a Saturday or Sunday, start a list now ('coz i don't know how to!). This way gives us all time to sort out times around work etc.
Any weekend is good for me. Some one start the ball rolling with a list please & i'll work round it.

Could be tempted to come along... Although I think other commitments will get in the way as work is getting busy and I also have to visit family/friends all over the country before crimbo!

I'm always interested but coz i work nights and rollin shift pattern its hard....so i will keep watch and see what date and hope with fingers crossed that i can make it.....I would like to meet some of you guys at some point. :y :y

As if you had to ask Broocie! She's being spoilt rotten. I won't elaborate, it's all been made public. Not just the cosmetics though, tappet sliders & idler pulley being replaced this week courtesy of Markey Mark who'se been a great help & treated her as his own.
If you're prepared to drive that far for an afternoon you'd be more than welcome. I'm sure many newer members would like to meet you.

Might be an idea for those on shift work to try & arrange a date between you in November before time creeps up. Any Sat or Sun is good for me but i need to know soon.

haha! fair enough then, markey marks is a nice run from mine, i'v been to woodall spa and it took ages! (went down the a631 and then down the a15) nice roads round there but horrible and windey near lincoln.
oh yeah- markey mark knows how much i'v had in my horrible little matiz im using atm while my megas off the road having a 2.5 put in it :P
so a point for markey mark is... d'ya fancy buyin a matiz to strip out the back and convert to a van lol

i think it's a case of which day most people prefere or everyone can get... saturdays usually good for most people unless they're on shifts as that way we automatically get sunday to "recover" :P
thought i'd just reply something relevant but it'd be good if everyone that can defo come/is coming puts they're name down in a rolling list (think we might have had one to begin with lol)
im defo anyway, maybe in the omega ;)

anyone who wants to assess my car valeting ability can come and look at the gleaming (inside and out) tractor inspite of a mud ridden two year old climbing all over the leather seats every time I mistakenly left a door open (air was turned blue second and third time the gleaming leather was made not so gleaming yet AGAIN). My ability to smile in face of difficulties can be assessed by the fact that the two year old survived the experience :P

Ok then if it helps, given we've decided the 8/9th, if folk have differing work/other commitments but would like to attend i'll make it a 2 day job. Can put a few up indoors, 2 mattresses, 1 blow up, 1 3 seat settee & a 2 seat that the cushions will make a mattress on the floor but bring your own bedding, + a few caravans outside wo'nt hurt for one night, (easy going neighbours) This way all can attend Sat/Sun or both.
Some one start a revised list please so i know how many & how long to cater for. Best this the final list so will be set in stone so to speak, time creeps up etc. so get your names down for either or both. :y

You just put the name(s) that are going then to add aname the person just copy the list then had there name , now I may make it but had a few hospital appointments Angiogram etc lately heart not doing what it should so may make it for one day so will add mine in amin !

To be fair i loved my old 2.5 (now Kates) Not a huge difference on paper but the 3.0's are so much gruntier mid range, ie 50 to 90 overtaking, firing you out of roundabouts in 2nd etc. But 2.5's have plenty to play with. :y

I put myself up for a valet or two to get myself out of other jobs. House invasion means you know where the kettle is, help youself, i hate trying to remember who wants what, it's all free, you do it.
I've got cars to clean, curry to cook & the odd cheeky vodka to drink!!!!! 8-) :D

The Rufforth curry was spot on. The first mouth full didn't do anything to start with :-/, by the time you were ready for your 3rd, it was just kicking in ;D. An excellent curry! [smiley=thumbup.gif]

By seasoned i meant HOT not individual dishes. I've got to make one batch on friday (for the saturday folk) & another on sat for the sunday folk so if everyone wants Tikka Masala i can do it but it's one dish for sat & one for sun hence in bulk i tend to stick with the all round plain chicken/m'room curry & rice to cater for the masses. :P

Evening big boy! It's either or both days as some can only make one. If you wanna stay over you can find somewhere inside to make a bed up (doss down) i think Jue & Helen are staying over 'coz they're mad., or you can park the snail outside & kip there if you wish.
If you & all others could finalize asap it would help but we'll manage!!! ::) 8-)

I've been watching this thread & I'm seriously tempted to blast down for a saturday visit.
I know its a bit of a trek, but I'm pulling my hair out trying to remove the abs ecu thats been doin my head in for months now.
I figure its the only time so many bods that know their way around a mig are goin to be in the same place, So any body fancy helping/advising on an ecu removal???
I dont mind doin likewise on breather cleans etc that I've done on mine already

from looking at mine it's in like a half cage, one 12mm maybe nut/bolt head is on the front side of it down in the mess of top rad hose/ecu big thick cabling area and then i think there's another on the bulkhead side unless anybody can tell me otherwise.

So, I will either:
A) Come down Sat only.
B) Come down Sat, go back to York Sat night, and then go back to Guys on Sunday Morning
C) Come down Sat, sleep over and go home on Sunday (IF I don’t need to do this security check crap which I said I would do FFS!!! :'()
D) Arrive at guys late Sat night (around 8-9:00 pm ish) and stop over.
PS: Will, I will bring your batt + Cash (PM or MSN me the total amount I owe you!), Andy I will bring your fleece!

Right, totally forgot about this meet :-[, not been on OOF properly for a bit. I am still coming. I saw on an earlier post Guy wanted to know who was coming sat or sun etc. Not everyone has confimed yet including me, It seems that the bulk of people are going sat so I guess thats what i'll say.

Arrived back home half an hour ago. We all had a lovely time at Guys.., even the midgets were fed and entertained (the two year old mostly by a puddle outside guy's house).
So thanks to all that were there, especially Steve who helped me wax my car properly and guy, u show those pics of my rear end u'r in heap big trouble matey!!!!!!!

arrived home at 5:45 took me less than an hour to get home mainly because I figured out how to set the sat nav properly and didn't go over the humber bride. lol

Tomorrow, all booked up, sorry!!!!! Joking aside I try to host them to fit around the two main meets (Newent & Lakes) which cover most of the summer. We also have Ian_D's York meet in the autumn which i think will be bigger next year & the venue's established so i'll be there with the Beastie.
We could get Chrimbo out of the way & maybe have Inv.3 next spring so watch this space. Sorted your fuel problem yet? 8-)

*edit- oh yeah guy the big black mini beastie runs... just have to keep your foot plonked down to keep it running atm but i'm looking into a possible air leak down the side of the icv ;)
