Last couple of times I have replaced the back pads on the Omega have found difficulty getting the piston fully retracted.Up till now I have always used large water pump grips with the old brake pad,but thinking of now buying a proper tool to do the job.
See lots of options but what would be others advise on the better set to buy :y

There's no point in buying an expensive set, and all the cheaper ones seem to be the same.
Something like THIS (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-21pc-Disc-Caliper-Brake-Piston-Rewind-Tool-Kit-Set-Wind-Back-Car-Auto/292603926832?_trkparms=aid%3D555017%26algo%3DPL.CASSINI%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D54808%26meid%3D3f517f9b4d2041a9b79213dc04447dcf%26pid%3D100505%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26%26itm%3D292603926832&_trksid=p2045573.c100505.m3226) is what I used last week. Much better than water pump pliers, and means you can service H/B calipers too.

I have one like this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRAKE-CALIPER-PISTON-REWIND-TOOL-LEFT-HAND-THREAD-WIND-BACK-KIT-UNIVERSAL-CT3330/182743256626 (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRAKE-CALIPER-PISTON-REWIND-TOOL-LEFT-HAND-THREAD-WIND-BACK-KIT-UNIVERSAL-CT3330/182743256626)
But normally the big plumbers pliers do the job, but the above is used if that fails.

I have always used G cramps ( or clamps if you prefer).
-
Cheers guys.
Just remembered the last time I changed the back pads I had difficulty getting the pistons fully flush with the waterpump method so appreciate others solutions, and at those prices seems a sensible addition for the planned front pad change early next year now :y

Reading descriptions bait further and notice the set Nick showed has a L/H and a R/H threaded tool so what is each required for ?
Tunnies suggestion is L/H threaded so do the pistons rotate when they are pushed in as surely just using my old method of waterpump pliers just pushes the piston straight back in.Is this then damaging the seal?

The handed tools are used for windback pistons in Handbrake calipers: some cars require both tools.
The sets contain various adapters for different size pistons/drive notches. Ordinary pistons are pushed straight in, just like pliers or a G-cramp.
At £14 for the whole set, it's not worth messing about

Thanks for explanation,Nick,
Agree at that price its seems a worthwhile kit...and it comes in a nice case so you don't end up searching for bits ;D...just the entire box :D :D
