Title: Problems retrofitting NCDR 2011 in my elegance.
Post by: Petter on 15 November 2017, 22:40:03
Hi.
I have bought an NCDR 2011 and Cid display for my 2001 omega 2,6v6 elegance
I had to add a few ekstra cables for the display and I'm pretty shore the cables are correct now.
The display works perfect except from no contact whit the radio.
The problem is that the head unit seems to be defective. The symptoms are as follows, no contact whit the Cid, radio turns on and search a radio station . I can't change Chantal or program  it. If I put in a cd everything seems normal,  cd spinns up and the radio is muting, getting ready to play the cd. Then nothing.... No sound at all. When I try to push nav or bc, nothing happens.
I am a professional radio repairman, but can't figure this out.
The donor car was a 2,2 diesel, and the seller told me everything was working before he took it out of the car.
What could be the reason for this fault symptoms.

It was offered in Norway for 21400kr. It is the same as ncdc2013 but without the cdchanger.

I think it is much more serius than a the laser. I think something is wrong whit the cpu or flash. :'(

Sounds to me like there's a pretty major issue with one of the internal boards / components. I would say board swapping is going to be the lowest possible method of fixing but coding between head NCDR and CID may become an issue. An NCDR 1100 might give you the parts you need.

I got myself an" op com diagnostic interface". I hope I can find out something more with that, at least I can see if there are any connection between the canbus and the radio.

Another symptom I noticed tonight is that when I turn of the radio, the lights in the steering wheel switches still is on, and that is strange...  ??? ???
Help!

Solved the problem. It was poor contact in the can buss .  :D
Problem now is the boardcomputer is reading data from the car, thinking it is an 2,2diesel not 2,6V6.  So the readings is wrong.
Do I have to have the codes for cid and headunit toget this sorted whit tech 2? :-\

CID needs code index 074 for a HID equipped 2.6/3.2.

But do I need the pairing code ? Because I did not get it when I bought the radio.

You can adjust the CID's Code Index without impacting pairing.

After you adjust the code index, you then need to program on the "contrast", else you'll get a white on black screen.

:D Thanks so much. The guy on the local Opel garage told me he needed the pairing code. But I did not believe him. I think it is just because there's so few of those ncdr20** in Norway do he did not know and wanted to be on the safe side.

Yup, so do the code index, then do the Contrast program.

Pairing code only needed when splitting stuff or adding new bits

You won't get an answer to that question.

Best advice is not to use it. But definitely don't use it for programming. Ever.

Good thing is that it is not posible to do it with "My Naff Code Reader", you have to use tech-2  ;D
