Thanks for the info .. several 6310i's on fleabay ... off to try and buy one .. :)

I assume the 6310i is better than the 6310 ??

ps .. Sir Jay W  ...

thanks for the edit .. you had me totally confused for a while there !! (not difficult I know ...    :)  )

6310i was a slightly better phone, had bluetooth and a better battery life as well as looking a bit more up to date.

Try and get the best you can for your money, and factor in the possibility of having to buy another battery.
if there are any that have faded screens walk away, it was a problem with some of them.
whilst it is an old phone now it is still very well respected by those who want something that makes and receives calls  :y

The 6310i is a very very good phone  :y, it's one of the best phone Nokia every made, a lot of Business people I know still use them.

get your self some hids bud make a load of difference !!  ;)

Fitting HID's is NOT a good idea.

You need to fit the headlight washer system, and self leveling system.

Headlight washers are not only a legal requirment they are a must, dirt greatly affects hids, everytime i wash the windscreen at night, i can see the difference in light as the hids are cleaned.

A lot of work is needed to do it right.

no you dont matey only when they are fitted from the factory !! isnt even part of mot bud !!! piece of p i ss to fit only one wire different !!  ;) ;)

I think you will find they are part of the MOT if the self leveling system is not fitted.

Its a lot more than one wire.

Its idiots who retro fit HIDs which dazzle other drivers, because if they don't self level the blind other drivers. A LOT of power goes though HIDs too....

You need to fit all the headlight washer system, if you don't they will be worse the halogens

Can I have my 2p worth on the subject of HID's and washer systems,
I know of two Kit Car Manufucturers that offer Halogens or HID's headlights and nether have a washer system for the lights.

So it can kill the diesel pump?

Is it impossible to get cheap ones?

As the price of diesel is so high ive been wondering baout use of SVO (straight veg oil)   cos i could get it cheaply from the cash and carry..

I know that pug 405's are good on veg oil etc but i dont really like them...

You will find that SVO will kill the pump or engine quicker than Bio-diesel, as normal pump diesel from a petrol station contains 5% Bio-diesel anyway and has done so for while now

If you want more info on SVO then check out this website http://www.dieselveg.com/ They have done a Range Rover 2.5TD (BMW engine) and Omega 2.2DTi and 2.5 TD, plus you could try running LPG as well, and before anybody says that you can not run LPG with Diesel check out http://www.spongecars.com/ and tell them that it can not be done

what exactly is biodiesel??

is it similar to Veg Oil?

a mate of mine was running his fiesta 1.8 diesel on chip fat, it lasted 4 months before it destroyed his engine

Yes & No to your question,
Bio-diesel can be made from Veg oil (new or used) you have to process it to make the Bio-diesel. No it is not straight Veg oil

If you search the web enough, you can find out that quite a few people have run the BMW 2.5 td engine on Bio-diesel with out any problems, if the vauxhall lift has a problem with Bio-diesel, then why not try a BMW unit from either a E36 (325 Tds) or a E34 (525 Tds)  ;)

What is the worse case senario? Can I drive it very gently in the meantime?

If you find nil compression on one or more cylinder/s, then it could be head gasket/s gone, cracked head/s or burnt out valve/s.  :-/

I would try to find out what the problem is frist before driving  :(

You will find the paperclip test here

Omega General Help / Re: lightened flywheel
« on: 24 February 2008, 22:31:59 »
Demon Tweeks list lightened flywheels for the V6 ( TTV Racing Components, Billet Steel), yes it might be a little lumpy at tick over.
The lower inertia and reduced weight offers more available power at the wheels, instant throttle response, better acceleration, quicker gear changes and greater engine braking and the price £295

1 OFF MY MATES WORK IN CAR SHOP AND HE GOT ME A 332 I + BATTERY WHICH FITS IN THE TRAY VERY WELL AND THAT READS 82AH 640 AMPS AND IT COST ME £72.50 WITH 4 YEARS WARANTY IF YOU WANT A SOLAR PANEL HE HAS THEM IN STOCK FOR £12.00 IF YOU WANT 1 I WILL POST IT TO YOU

Thanks. I have been having a look at solar panels in general to maybe help top up the battery in the caravan for when we're away without hook-up. I'll let you know.

To use a solor panel for the running of your caravan, when there is no elec hook up, you are going to need some thing very big, but if it's just to charge up the battiers then go for a couple of three, Try Maplins for them

« on: 03 February 2008, 22:14:36 »
I've got a 98 2.5 Elite with HID's, I found that when you switch on HID's they go bright then dim a bit, then back to a bright white light unlike halogen and the rest which just go to the light level they are at, if you know what I mean  ::)

HIDs are another name for xenons

Projectors are for halogens, the projector headlights where fitted from mini-facelift onwards and use halogen bulbs.

Tunnie. My Mig has what i would best describe as clear plastic lenses, but with what look like magnifying glasses & the dip & main beam are separate lenses, they shine with a blue top to the beam with rainbow colours too, the cut off from the beam is definite. My Migs a CD on an 02 reg. Would you know by my decription as to what they are or would someone have some pix they could post of the different lights  :y

that sounds like a Xenon/HID

Does the car have headlamp washers?

No  :-[ The side lights are in the main beam side though if this casts any ideas

What spec is your car? GLS or CD?

CDX / Elite's have HID's and as Jay says headlight washers.

The light will have a purple tinge and be more like day-light and normal car lights.

My Migs a CD, yes it does have a purple tinge & it is like day light. I'll take some pix & post them, infact i'm gona take pix of the whole car when the weather picks up
Got any Snow up there  ;) if so keep it

Minispud, Upper Heyford, that sounds really familiar. I used to live near Burford. Is it close by???

Upper Heyford is north of Oxford approx 13 miles, Burford is what 19 miles approx west of Oxford, so yes, they are both in Oxfordshire  ;D ;D about 25 miles as the Crow flies, that's if your a Crow  ;D ;D
