Omega General Help / Live data on a 3.2
« on: 07 September 2019, 17:56:21 »
Hi all, still having problems with an omega 3.2 2002 reg auto.
My previous posts show the problems and parts that have been replaced.
The car seems fine at idle although fuel consumption shows 18 mpg. When it's in drive it sounds rough on the passenger side. I have live data but not sure how to post it on here.

Omega General Help / Self levelling shocks
« on: 22 November 2017, 20:30:35 »
Hi all
Cars been running nice since new head gaskets so thanks to all for the help.
Now need new shocks for MOT vauxhall part 72119085
Where can I get them Vauxhall quoted about £180 each with trade card.
Seen originals on German ebay for £190 for a pair inc postage but being cautious as if they're wrong or faulty means I'm longer with out the car.

Omega General Help / Omega 3.2
« on: 26 July 2017, 20:34:32 »
Hi all well after renewing head gaskets etc couple of problems.
Cars runs fine no pinking but need to replace rocker gaskets as the elring ones are leaking. No problem Vauxhall originals will be going on at some point.
1st problem is fault code 1500 know what it means but what's causing it as car accelerates etc as it should and where is it.
Next is it needs complete exhaust from manifold to the tailpipe (estate version) best place to buy one and maybe a link
Self levelling shocks been on the list for a while but was quoted by one vx dealer £189 each
Need someone who can help with solving air con as had it regassed nothing came out when turned on so they emptied the gas until I can get it working

Omega General Help / Dreaded 3.2 compression issue
« on: 05 July 2016, 09:14:51 »
To everyone who's contributed with advice.
Thank you.
Reason I've not posted is that a few weeks back started to strip the engine but never got to the heads as Unfortunately my Mum broke both her legs so I've not been around or had time to get on with it,
I will however post the progress when I get time to get on with it.

Omega General Help / Omega 3.2 compression issue
« on: 03 May 2016, 18:50:59 »
Ok after many months of the car not running decided to check engine compression myself.
Results so far are
number 1 cylinder 113 psi,
number 3 cylinder 110,
number 5 cylinder 160 psi.
Wow one side done I was told compression was fine, annoyed the fact I've changed lots of parts that didn't need to.
Have Mayo in oil filler which isn't going away.
Going to try 2,4,6 compression now will post soon

Omega General Help / Cooling fans
« on: 06 February 2016, 13:14:50 »
3.2 litre elite estate auto
Seems my fans both run at one speed how do I do the test to confirm a fault with relay or sensor as after looking on the forum seems they should run at different speeds depending on temperature or a/c running etc.
The 2 front fans also don't turn off once they've cooled the engine down but turn off once ignition is turned off.

Omega General Help / Omega 3.2 running rough
« on: 04 February 2016, 20:27:45 »
Dear all,
I have an omega 3.2 auto.
It's still not running right.
Problems are runs slightly rough on idle and smells like it's over fuelling when cold.
When it's warm and on a run it starts pinking under load, also cooling fans come on at about 90 but once temperature down to 85 they're not switching of.
So far I've put a new contitech timing kit, new knock sensors new maf new dis packs, new thermostat, water pump plus moved exhaust sensor on drivers side
Fault codes that I'm getting via pedal trick are
0300,0304,0303,0325,0330,0300,0304
As you can see it throws some codes up twice
I have posted on this before but not really used the car for awhile

Omega General Help / Omega 3.2
« on: 03 November 2014, 22:58:24 »
hi everyone I'm new to the forum, need some help with various issues on the omega 3.2. It is 52 plate auto elite with 103.000 miles.
Couple of months ago noticed it pinking under load but not on idle. So I decided to change timing belt, water pump, thermostat, plugs and coil packs, now it's worse, so rechecked timing belt which is spot on.
Now I have fault codes as follows: 0650,420,300,302,304,306,303,100
Have also put new knock sensors on as well.
Did notice a bit of milky gunge on oil filler but have only been doing about 5 miles a day for last 3 weeks.
Only pinking when warm though any help would be appreciated
