'tis a good and useful site ...

I used it to check a motor I was looking at for SWMBO .. the guy couldn't understand why I wrote down MOT details then said I was off for lunch ....   5 minutes outside a McDonalds and the lappy told me it had 5 advisories he had failed to mention ....  went to the pub for lunch and didn't go back to see him  :)

I have for a long time used/advised/given folks the free version of Sygate Firewall that is very effective and very simple to use. Unfortunately Sygate were taken over by Norton (who I won't touch with the proverbial) and it has never been updated.

Now it still works really well on XP and below .. but does not work on Vista.

Can anyone recommend a free, simple (and by that I mean it asks allow/block and remember answer options like Sygate did on every incoming and outgoing program and a simple click response is enough) and effective firewall that I can suggest to those idiots folks buying systems with Vista pre-installed, as we all know how useless windows firewall really is!!

Thanks

As I see that light .. it has a red on, two unlit and a green arrow .. my thoughts are this is, for some reason, only allowing straight on traffic right now, but when the normal green is on traffic can go in either direction.

This is totally understandable if, on the left turn street there is a light controlled pedestrian crossing. The signal as shown allows pedestrians to cross AND forward traffic to flow, thus reducing congestion...

just ny 2.3 p's worth (inc VAT)

Fair comment, but I've never had a fault accident. I have little control what people behind me are doing while I'm waiting at a roundabout ;)

I'm absolutely fine - there will be more news on the car tomorrow

And that is the most important piece of news, any twinges though .. get yourself checked out ..
