If you've got the need for some serious 170mph+ speed on a road this is how it is done. ;) ;) ;)

Guy Martin & Michael Dunlop on a 200mph ride down to the local shops and back. ;) ;) ;)

The bike video gives a much better sensation of the speeds they are going at. :y :y :y

The TT footage looks like it has been speeded up......it hasn't.

Utter nutters to average more than 130 MPH around the 37 mile TT course. :)

Tony pond managed  a 100mph average in a Stock Rover 827 vitesse on slicks

It wasn't standard, it had been fiddled with at gaydon.

They were quick anyway,I had three of them and loved them especially the manual one  I had
I think the fastest I've ever achieved on a public road* was in one of those when I was young and stupid (and so was the hire company who let me have it). :o

The (allegedly) Tony Pond car was at Thruxton one day when I was doing a track day. It had come bowling past me at ten tenths several times that day. My Mum had come with me and was getting bored, and they offered sighting laps in the Rover for a few quid, so.....

;D ;D ;D "The driver was mad. She took a bend at 130 MPH...."

* - I let my guard drop for a second and only realised as I hit 69.998 MPH. Phew! That was close. :-X

Malcolm uphill managed a 100 MPH lap on an old Bonneville in 1969.

Rumour has it the name of the production tyres  he used was changed from Dunlop K81 to Dunlop TT100 which were everywhere in the seventies. :)
