General Discussion Area / Not a good Monday morning
« on: 01 November 2010, 10:50:21 »
Gets up with the intention of getting to the office early, goes into the garage and the beast refuses to start, cant push it out as it will block the road and noone about for a push, can't find a single paperclip in the house to see what the issue is >:(, ends up doing contortions to get a mangled keyring into the right diagnostic pins and subsequently trapped a nerve in my neck.OWWWWWW. No faults stored !!!

Eventually she catches and is backed out but I had to lock the house and switched it off. DOH! wont start again. Calls one of my staff to come pick me up and the friggin thing starts as soon as he arrives.

It is now in the work car park in a non starting mood and im in bloody agony! Im guessing it's the crank sensor playing up again but the MID was showing coolant level warning but this might be a coincidence?

Got a meeting with the HR director later and hope this wont be the third installment of bad luck in what has been a crappy Monday !

General Discussion Area / Insurance, legal?
« on: 11 September 2010, 21:57:02 »
I have a 2.2 that I will be selling once a couple of little bits and bobs get sorted, planning on pottering about in it to make sure it is good to go.

I was thinking of registering it in my partners name and driving it( with her permission of course ;)) with third party cover on my comp policy.

This is ok is it not?

General Discussion Area / What would you bid..
« on: 10 September 2010, 14:17:08 »
....up to the auctions for a lovely metallic blue 2001 y reg 2.2 cdx auto, 68,000 miles with a good history. Sadly no leather but good tyres and new parts aplenty.

Going through my local auction later on and I am thinking there may be a profit in it!

Will report back on the outcome later but guesses what it will go for are welcome.

After a week of timewasters I have sold the 206 I have done up, nice Latvian couple from Blackpool where the only ones who actually had manners and turned up.

Thanks to Del Boy I made an extra £300 as I had undervalued it big time :y

General Discussion Area / Timewasters
« on: 22 August 2010, 17:15:56 »
Advertised a 206 yesterday and the phone has been buzzing. First guy wants it for his daughter " will be over within the next 2 hours, 3 hours later I ring him, "OHHH sorry my daughter had to go into work, wont be able to come now"

Second guy"will come at half three, daughter really likes the look of the car" rings him at half four, " Ohhh sorry she has gone for dinner at her brothers, wont be able to come now"

Who the break do they think they are wasting my time and screwing up my day >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( I wouldn't dream of behaving like that.

Very nice lady wants to come tomorrow evening, wants it for her son, let's hope no-one invites him for dinner hey ::)

Sunday pint coming up, now I have the time that is! :y

General Discussion Area / car tax prob, selling
« on: 21 August 2010, 12:41:18 »
Just realised that the 206 I am selling is registered as disabled on the log book, how am I going to sort this with the new owner? It is not taxed at the moment but would they be able to tax it with the new owner supplement at the postie?

perhaps not what you were expecting!!

I have tons of these little Damson/plum type thing on a tree in my garden and wondered if any oofers could identify which type they are and what the hell I can make out of them.. seems a shame to let them all rot like every other year .

General Discussion Area / Laptop wiping prob
« on: 17 July 2010, 17:02:00 »
Righto people, when my old employer went bust I was allowed to keep the laptop I had but never bothered with it till now...problem is I only have a user account and it has Citrix on so I cant activate the wireless receiver or change anything at all on the bugger.

A friend has had a look at it and doesn't think it can be wiped due to the security on it and the lack of an administrator password and it certainly won't boot from a cd to install xp or summat.

So basically, I appear to be buggered unless someone here is a genius. Having read this back it sounds a bit dodgy but it is genuine!
