I see public sector workers are getting a pay rise of around 2.5%. I hope Albs isn't too disappointed as I know he's been saying they deserve around 10%.

But all these pay rises have got to be paid for out of existing budgets that each of those sectors already have as the Government is not putting in the extra cash!

Not all "ranks" are getting 2.5% though many are getting less- according to the news anyway.

We have already saddled future generations with approx. two trillion £ of debt. Whats a few more billions ? 
I had a wage drop of just over 50% eleven years ago, but Ive managed to reduce that to approx. 30% (not accounting for inflation though), but that's the private sector where you cant continually get away with paying people money you haven't actually got.

Furthermore our contributions to the EU have risen by another £2.6 billion in the last year. Up from £12.9 billion to £15.5 billion.
When those hateful specimens in Westminster (such as Hammond)patronise us with talk about a no deal cost taxpayers up to £30 billion, we should remember that by frustrating the result of the biggest vote in history they have, without a second thought, sent at least another £28.4 billion of our money to Brussells, as we should have left at least two years ago.
I dont blame anyone who fiddles their taxes. Dont give politicians a penny of you money if you can avoid it, as you can be sure they will waste almost all of it.

Over the last .. well lets say 14 years, because I can do the maths easily .. uh, a lot more than 2%. I'll get my coat now.

During my wilderness years of working for that tinpot yankie firm, I had way below inflation payrises, even before the 2008 crash, grrrr

To be fair, when I started at my current company (14 years ago), I was "young" (mid 20s) and relatively early in my career.

Now I'm the old codger and we're hiring people who could be my kids (41 this year), and I'd guess I've seen all the big rises my salary is ever likely to see..

'course, my tax bill is big enough to pay someones entire salary, now (I jokingly said that to a friend who works for HMPS, he asked what my tax bill was .. he confirmed it would, indeed, pay his salary  )
