Pas pump removal
« on: 26 December 2019, 12:45:23 »

Evening gays. I mean guys  ;D merry Christmas and may a thousand camel fleas infest your arse hole  :y

I have had a small leak of PAS fluid for a while.  Been topping up every fortnight roughly. Anyway I found the little bugger. There’s a small leak from the back of the pump. I’ve already changed the hose from pump to reservoir.

So when I can be bothered I’ve got a new REMY pump to fit. My question is this...

The big nut on top of the pump. I can’t get my eyeballs on it. Is it likely that when I loosen this it could be frozen to the line (thinking like brake pipe fittings do). And should I be using ptfe tape or loctite on refitting???

Looking at the new pump it’s just a threaded hole so I’m assuming the line going in will be some sort of tapered / compression type fitting so unless I see anything to the contrary (i.e. remnants of loctite or ptfe) I shall just screw it in and call it done 👍
