As above, you can buy a second hand one and get a dealer to Tech 2 it or depending where you are you can ask TheBoy or Mark DTM as they have Tech2s.

Hi there,

Also, if you are buying second hand (ebay or wherever) make sure you get the right one - I bought a secondhand one and it was for a vectra - not my Omega as advertised.

If buying a secondhand one - check the part number on the rear of the fob - your local Vauxhall dealer can tell you from the part number whether it's correct for your car.

Cheers,
Mike

Be careful when buying off e-bay, I bought two and they were both the wrong ones. Even though I found out eventually mine is a Megamos key fob, there are apparently two different Megamos fobs and they are not interchangeable. In the end I went to a local locksmith who supplied, cut and programmed a new key for £85, the local Vauxhall stealer wanted £143!!!!

a car pass is a little credit card sized laminated card that "should" come with the book pack and leather wallet, it has various codes on it, uncluding the Car Stereo code, I dont have one with mine either!

you can get one issued from Vauxhall, not sure of the cost but in the region of £20 i think, you need proof that you own the car too, so take your V5 with you

if you already have the car pass then see Marks DTM or The Boy if you are local enough to them, they have the equipment to program keys/fobs

they will need the carpass and also they will want to see proof of ownership aswell
