As per title, I think its been long enough since the last meet (almost a year) and time to arrange another. If enough people are interested, I will talk to the landlord and book a couple of tables at the same venue as last year. For those new to the site its The Crown, Ardleigh Interchange, Colchester.
If you are interested please make it known, sooner rather than later, so I can hopefully arrange the venue :y

Update. The Crown is not a favourable venue now :o. Having spoken to a member of staff regarding using the facilities on said day, the management will not be able to accomodate us in any way/shape/form, this is unfortunate. If anyone as any other suggestions, please make them known. Hopefully Duggs will appear and help resolve this with a polite and persausive email ::) just like last year

That's a shame,thinking back to the last meet there was'nt a mahoosive number of cars,and you'd think with the economy being down the toilet all forms of business would be welcome ???.....only in Enland :o

Had an idea.The 8 ball diner on the A12 northbound near Witham. I pass it almost every weekend and theres often a car club meet taking place,so it seems they welcome meets.
A quick google search brings up plenty of info.

Face tube link shows events up to July 2012,and nothing since.It was probably last summer when I saw meets taking place,so maybe its has gone teets up. :(

Just googled it,by the looks of the amount of rubber that's been laid down in the car park and if the place is still going,it could be a good place for a meet :y

My eyewitness account can verify at least two with signs of a third sprouting. :y ;D
Im on nightshift the night before and also sat.night,so may well be able to pop along bleary eyed for a while.
Tried having a look at 9 ball diner from the southbound A12 on the way to work today,but couldnt really see anything.Will be on the Northbound on the way home in the morning,so hopefully will remember to have a good look. :y

8 Ball is kinda like the East Anglian Ace Cafe.
Best check no other car clubs meeting on that day. Could have modern modifieds too hot rods or bikers meeting there.

just a thought, there is a cafe at Hatfield Peveral, D,s Diner that says it is open 7 days a week. is it worth checking that out?

yes and no. Its only about 5 miles from my house. I will try and find their phone number and ask them. But if anyone else has a suggestion or is in that area before i can make contact, please go ahead. i thought about it just after I went past it the other day.

There is a large car park to the side of the cafe that I hadnt noticed before so space wouldnt be a problem.
No idea what the opening hours are tbh. :-\

spoke to them today and they are happy to accomasate us but could we make it from 1pm onwards as they have a busy morning session. Usual cafe grub, last orders at 3 pm and shut at 3.30. if everyone happy with this, i will post up postcode and directions.

I will be bringing Dave Waddington along with me. he is the chairman of ABS for those who dont know him. Also for those who dont know, he had a botched cateract operation done in hostpital that has left him blind in one eye and with no focusable vision in the other. not nice for someone who has a Lotus carlton on the drive and knowing that he will never be able to drive it again. I will post up directions/postcode shortly for those who dont know the area.

Confirmed with them lunch time. if there is going to be a large contigent, they have asked if we could park as to "block" each other in, just in case they are still busy, at the back of the car park.
Postcode is; CM3 2EJ, 1 the street, Hatfield Peveral, Essex. For non sat navers, from Colchester direction, junction 20B, it is immediatly at the top left of the slip road, which is very short. from Chelmsford/London direction, junction 20. At the top of the junction, turn left at the "T". follow the main road all the way through. Just after the mini roundabout, the road bears left to go back over the A12. there is a junction there on the right with a dead end sign. Turn into it and it is the last property on the right, where the no entry signs are. see you there from 1pm.

We were coming,but unfortunately it looks like that very few members have responded over the past few weeks and I actually punted around one or two yesterday,and no joy. So due to the mileage involved we've decided it's a 'no go' for us as well....sorry :'(

As this is local ish to me, I would have been a definate under normal circumstances.
Nitro contacted me trying to bolster the numbers attending .
But things are a bit strained here at moment so my opologies to the organiser/s Sorry but I cannot get to this one :'( :'(

There might be a couple but as it chucked it down with snow whenever we went outside they might not have come out!
