Good evening , how are you everyone, I hope all well.
I love this forum , it's always very helpful and always gives precious info which saves a lot time.
Today  I managed to fit an aftermarket stereo unit Pioneer  whuch replaced the factory unit ccr 2006 ( V6 3.0 manual FL). This unit I had installed in my Opel Rekord B from 1965, but it was barely used since I use that car in very short trips , and because of the loud exhaust pipes and no isolation , it had no use. Not to mention the period incorrectness in the interior
It is Sunday , so no stores open , I used what I could find in garage , but at the end final result was satisfactory.
So I used some electrical pins isolation tape and solder
Took out the old unit , released the original jack to come forward.
So I connected the input of the radio on to + 12 v from battery, same with the black wire GND , and the BLUE wire from the radio I connected to the red and white two wires, so the amp should get power.
Connected the 4 speaker connections as it should, and final result was a blast. Very very strong and clean sound much better then previous. No sound distortion, which happened to me when I connected the non bose factory radio from other omega here are the pictures how it looks, again , I know I should have bought a proper connector so it would look more professional but today is Sunday , my only day free, so I took what I had

Sorry for the long post , I hope was helpful

Omega General Help / Coolant leak from front and back of the engine
« on: 13 December 2020, 09:42:09 »
Hello to everyone , I hope you are in good health
I have a FL 3.0 V6
Few days ago started losing coolant and last night it was very obvious there was coolant falling on the ground. When I look under the engine , liquid comes out from two places, more from the front side , less from the back side , but I can't see from where exactly it comes. This happens when car is running.
I suspect the oil cooler , but have no idea what to do , anyone had similar experience?
Thank you in advance

Omega General Help / Head gasket propably gone
« on: 12 September 2020, 14:54:51 »
Hello to all. I hope everyone s safe and in good health.
Problem again with my omega
Out on a freeway,  going uphill, LPG as fuel,  130 kph in 3 rd gear  (range rover brand new was behind me so I had to be on high revs :)).
So, white smoke out of the exhaust, engine temp went up in red, lots of coolant went out of the expansion tank cap.
I parked immediately, turned of the engine, fans still running, waited till car temp went down.
Turned around, now downhill, and drove for 20 miles back,
Drove it like 140 kph, temp went down below 80 and did not came up. In the city, it went up to 100 degrees parked, but when throttled temp goes back to 90.
So, the verdict is most likely head gasket blown?
If so what brand would you reccomend, and what's the price of it in UK
And can I drove the car to work, plain road no traffic 10 kms away.
Thank you

Omega General Help / Consumption big difference
« on: 15 July 2020, 19:59:15 »
Good evening everyone
It's been a long time since my last post here I hope all are safe and in good health.
I have an Omega V6 3.0 manual from 2000. Since I m not in UK it's Opel omega executive (I think elite is the model in UK)
I have it for almost 2 years it runs on LPG
Since for almost a year it ran a bit rough, not as smooth as it should, ran like it had a missfire, all 6 cilinders were here but it was shaking a lot. Consumption on board comp was between 18 and 21 liter on 100 km. Comp diagnostics showed nothing.
2 weeks ago I took el. contact spray and carefully sprayed  all connectors that I could find in the engine area. Literally everywhere where the connector was I disconnected it and  cleaned it.
Engine started to run very smooth. Almost normal. I could place a glass of beer on engine. Vibrations are minimal but there are some mount s that I have to change that are the cause of very small vibrations
Main thing. Board started showing consumption of 13 to 16 liter per 100 km. So that's 5 liters less. Also in real life numbers are here. Does it show lpg or petrol consumption I have no idea. I have no idea what I have done, because I opened everything. Anyone with similar experience? strictly driving in town, small town, lots of traffic, start stop all the time,  city mode

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CDR 2005 Volume problem
« on: 08 March 2020, 07:55:44 »
Good morning to everyone
Last night I replaced CCR 2006 with CDR 2005 car stereo.
Volume control on both units are bad, won't work, no matter how you turn it its either too loud or no sound etc.
But with the old unit volume control on the steering wheel worked fine.
Now with the cdr 2005, you can turn down the volume, but the lowest point is very loud.
So, it goes very loud and next down level is no sound (steereng wheel volume)
I will try to clean the rotating volume control on the unit, maybe it will help with the steering wheel control
The point is to get one volume control working, don't care which one

Omega General Help / Fault Code 19 and 73
« on: 15 December 2019, 19:30:53 »
Good evening
As a good petrolhead, last Saturday night stayed home with my two and a half cars in  my so called garage,
With nothing smarter to do and one hour left to ,, flipping bangers,, on tv, I deccided to do paper clip test  on the omega ( v6 3.0 manual)
Last night there was only one fault present , 19 ( incorrect rpm signal )
Today , one more fault , 73  ( MAF sensor low voltage)
Car has regular problem with fuel lines , i havent solved it yet , runs very rough on petrol but when on lpg it runs ok.
Are these two faults somehow connected
Thank you

Hello its me again. Hope i m not too much boring with my omega , it behaves like a  citroen :)
V6 3.0 FL. manual LPG
In the morning idles very rough like a spark plug missing , on low revs, on high I think not
When I open the petrol tank cap, it produces sound like some kind of pressure release, air comes out under pressure , dont know if thats normal or not
In the recent past vacuum hose from purge valve was disconnected on both sides so I connected it , thanks to guys here , from the forum
All of this happens when running on petrol , when on lpg car runs very very normal

Omega General Help / Heating gone again
« on: 04 October 2019, 16:17:40 »
Omega V6 3.0 FL
Last year I cleaned the heating at professionals, they connected the input and the output the heating on special machine, it took out a lot of oil out, so for a few months it was ok. Again at spring heating was gone, cold air out of it. Two weeks ago, I cleaned it and by myself, using water hoses, it was successful, hot air started to come out of the vents, car heating was perfect. After two weeks, now, it started to blow not so hot air, so I guess its a matter of time when it will be gone totally again. Any experience with this
Thank you
