General Discussion Area / BMW 'designers'
« on: 07 September 2007, 18:33:40 »
Words fail.  I'm left utterly speechless.  What bloody idiot left that designer alone to 'design' the engine should be sacked.

Those following the tractor saga may remember I was debating whether to check the chains or just swap the heads over.

Had a look at the original engine, now in my garage, and couldn't see how the chain cover comes off, even though the ancillaries are already mostly off.

So a quick look on TIS, and it roughly translates to:
Remove sump!  (which pretty much means engine out I think)/
Remove cylinder head (WTF??)
Remove injection pump

(thats in addition to the ancilliaries like removing alternator, PAS pump, water pump, crank pulleys, vacuum generator, viscous, aux belt).

Words cannot describe my current feelings towards BMW and their stupid bloody 'designers'

I should really have been taking photos of chains for Mr DTM, but I had a prearranged round of golf with some colleagues...   ...glad I kept the round, it was my best ever by a long shot - I did an 86 (yes, I know, I'm a rubbish golfer)

Thats cheered me up a little :D

For you organisation of the Wales meet  - despite your poor geography (we were miles from Wales).

All joiking aside, great site. Thankyou.

On a more personal note, thanks also to the Jimbobs and the DTMs for allowing me to gatecrash breakfast both days :)

General Discussion Area / Will Mrs TheBoy make it home
« on: 02 September 2007, 20:19:03 »
As most will know, I sent her off to Great Yarmouth in the MV6 this weekend.  Don't tell her, but I knew the battery was suspect, so I packed the jump leads just in case...

Every time she rang whilst I was at Wales meet, I always wondered if it was to say battery flat.  The battery has held up well, but she rang this morning to say the EML was on, and she had a Coolant Level warning on the dash  :o

Went to pick Tunnie up yesterday morning, arrived at his house to find Tunnie, Father Tunnie and Mother Tunnie holding up on of the garage doors  :-?

Turns out, reading between the lines, Tunnie lost his rag and ripped it off its runners  :o

Didn't think he was strong enough, so no more 3 shredded wheat for him again!

For a small fee, would people be interested in having their own mini website under the omegaowners.com banner?  For example, it I had one, it would be http://theboy.omegaowners.com

What sort of diskspace and what sort of monthly bandwidth do you think would be sensible?  What sort of annual fee do you think?

Not sure if this will ever happen, just judging if there is any interest.
