Handbrake shoes on the 190. Fiddly little job, similar to the Omega.
Worst part came at the start when I jacked the car up. The jack disappeared up into the floor as the rusty metal crumbled under the weight.
MOT runs out in two weeks, so need to get the welder out soon.  ::)

Well, it is 29 years old with 244000 on the clock. I have already welded up the other three jacking points, so this one must have been feeling left out.  ::)

Had to use aircon in 3.2 as it was quite warm today, surprised it still worked properly and blew chilled air.  :o

I do leave it in auto all the time, but most years it stops working at some point over Christmas.
You do realise that auto is a climate control setting and has absolutely zero bearing on whether the aircon* compressor is either working or engaged ???

*Aircon being a separate system which happens to have a single control button,(ECO), on the climate control panel ;)

On auto, air-conditioning compressor will be working, as it drys the air, if you press Eco compressor will be off(no air con)   think what tunnie means is he turned the temp down, climate then blew cold to adjust cabin temp to lower settings..

Perhaps but Auto still works with Eco pressed, just doesn't cool the air below ambient temp ;)

I wonder how many modern Mercs will reach that age? ;D

Mate of mine had one the same age as my Omega which went to mr. Beanz about 10 years ago. Had been through a couple of sets of front wings by that time too. :-X
