video text doesn't have it quite right they were not riot police.  they were actually russian special forces! - COьP . even the fat ones.

russian riot police are 'OMOH' and look like this  :-*


and ordinary police, полиция, like this :-*

well according to the la times anyway http://articles.latimes.com/2014/feb/09/world/la-fg-wn-security-olympics-sochi-russia-intelligence-20140209. they look very similar to our old special branch to me.
