Hybrid Toyota
« on: 21 May 2017, 22:46:45 »

Don`t get me wrong I like the idea of high mpg & low emmisions etc  :y
The reality of owning one is slightly weird & frustrating  ::)
Jump-in & press the start button & a green light indicates it`s "Ready" to go
So select "D" & we creep away relatively quickly under leccy power.
Then a bit faster & the crap noisy 1500 cc engine kicks in & the graphic on the infotainment centre shows mean little green lines surgin about.
But I can`t ever just press the start button & turn on the petrol engine when the car is at a standstill. If I could just tell the little sod  >:( I want to listen to mister noisy a mo cos that squicky noise has come back & I`d like to get eye`s & ears on the problem.
Nope I`m not a fan  :P I`ve given it a  shake down & quite happily re-park it back home on my Uncles driveway. He`s back home from his travels next month & he`s welcome to it

Ahhh yes not the nicest car in the world, we had one as a works hire car and drove it like a hire car. I assume it used a cvt gearbox as it's always driving and always slipping, I hated the way you floor it and the engine pins itself at full revs while goin slightly faster but making way more noise.

Why can't they all be like the tesla models hehe

Can sometimes force them onto petrol by resetting the 12V system
